My Football Life
Home
Throughout my highschool years, I have always played a sport.  All the way up to my senior year of football.  That's what every athlete waits for, to be able to perform the best they can in the sport that they love.  That was the case for me up to when I fucked my knee up.  At first it was something small, (stretched maniscuse for those who are interested.) then ended up as a torn ACL.  Along with two other starters from the  mascoutah football team, we watched our team go to battle.  I wanted things to be different then the past years of legendary mascoutah football but it is hard to alter the course of the game from the sideline.
I guess to many people, the masoutah football program has been a joke under Mr. Lindsey's eyes.  To those that do, I would have to dissagree with because you have no clue how it really was.  Your perception of this program was what you saw on friday nights.  I find this quite prejudgemental out of you due to your view of this programs consists of 9 friday nights out of a 77 (approx. 11 weeks) day season.  Though we may not have been able to put it together on the playing field, day after day we still worked long and hard in the blistering sun as a team.
I know that many of you have your opinion on Mr. Lindsay as a football coach.  And I can't do anything about that except to attempt to tell you about the side of him that you don't know about.  I have known him since my middle school days.  That was were I first met him.  Along with several others, I can truly say that he has become one of my idols and i admire him to a level that is unspoken of.  He has taught me the basics fundimentals of my three main sports that i love (Baseball, Football, and Wrestling).  If it were not for him pushing me to drive further day by day I could possibly dropped sports all together and lost intest.  I look at sports as the greatest part of my life at the moment.  The only flaw that I could possibly see in this man "
as a coach" not as a human is that he is too nice.  With most of his players he known us since 7th grade therefore he is almost more of a friend to us rather than a hardcore coach that only excepts victory.  There have been days were he has completely blown up at us but this was very uncommon.  This could have been the key factor of winning or losing the game.  The main reason in the diffrence of success in the years of football and wrestling under his watch is that in football he was head coach (top dog) and has say over all if we should run or not in football practice to where in wrestling he was labled head coach but him and Mr. Mueth shared leadership.  In wrestling he was more of the skill teacher and Mr. Mueth as the drill sargent.  This lead to his success in wrestling and down fall in football. I look at it almost that he was alone as the head coach of football and had to take care of it all. I would like to thank Mr. Lindsay for everything that he has done for me and how far it has and will take me.  I deticate my on coming success in sports to him.
