MidWest Alternatives: BioDiesel

Biodiesel is a renewable fuel source. It can be manufactored from, among other things, vegetable oils, animal fat or recycled restaurant grease. It can be produced by individuals on a small scale or purchased from selected gas stations.

A blend of 20% biodiesel and 80% petroleum diesel can be used in most diesel engines without modifications to your engine. Please check out some of the listed links or some other expert before you fill your tank.

By putting biodiesel in your tank you are supporting the farmers who grew the seed crop, helping our environment and reducing our dependence on foreign fuel sources all at the same time.
