My Second Poem -
Also the first official one I wrote....
IMPRISON

You think you are my Saviour,
yet you dwell within my mind as if to conquer,
not restore.

You are no hero in my mind,
which is what you wish to believe,
there is no shining armour,
only a wicked glint in your eye.

Bring me down no more,
for my crumbling walls are no longer a strong defence.
You have ripped me apart and thrown me into the ocean,
letting the salty water lick my wounds.

I can stand no more,
my knees you have stolen,
leaving me a wavering mess.

You think you rode me high,
but really,
I was being dragged by the horse.

You held the banner high.
a declaration of sort;
but it was only false.
False hopes with a false victory.

I was blinded from the first sweet word you whispered in my ear.
The first candle you lit before me,
lighting up your dark eyes.

You rode me high,
but the banner you held was slapping my face.

Please let me stand as one more fall shall bring me down.

Down I shall stay,
and your doormat I will be.

Do not control me because you know you can,
be a hero and hold me up.

Nourish me.

You held me high for all to see,
but the banner you held for me was slapping my face.
Fall off the horse and let me ride it.
A banner I don't need.
Just the reins.
