This page includes some of my favorite photographs from my many journeys. You'll notice that many are of New Mexico or Arizona, where I got my first photographic inspiration like so many other photographers. Something about deep blue skys and clear air. You'll also notice a lot of images of landscapes and especially architecture. Corners, lines, details, all those elements in architecture are some of my favorite subjects.
I don't remember exactly what overlook this was taken from, except that it was from the East Rim. Definently a place that inspires wonder and makes you feel really small.
I love churches. This one is on the French coast and is on it's own island which can not be accessed during high tides. All the stone used had to be brought to the island and was an act of belief in faith in building this place.
Las Trampas, New Mexico 2000
You can really get an idea on how friable adobe is in this structure. This is the doorway to San Jose de Gracia Church in Las Trampas, in northern New Mexico. It has been called one of the best preserved of all the historic adobe churches. The black and white film used was Ilford XP-2, my favorite black and white film. The film is extremely sharp for a 400 speed film.

San Jose de Gracia was a labor of faith as well as community pride. The drawings on the ceilings, while looking random, were drawn by the townspeople of the village while the church was being built. The beams were also handcarved, as were most of the elements in the church.
