    Project Curve - Direction Step

    Point the arrow towards the extruded surface and click.

    Click Finish on the ribbon bar.

    If required, click the Visible and Hidden Edges     tool on the Main toolbar to see the projected curve.





    Trim Surface - Surface Step


    Select the Trim Surface     tool from the Surfacing toolbar.

    Select the extruded surface as the surface to trim.

    Select the projected curve as the trimming curve.

    Click accept     on the ribbon bar.





    Trim Surface - Side Step

    Indicate the arrow in the vertically upward direction as the part to trim off.

    See figure.





    Surface Trimmed

    The extruded surface is trimmed as shown in figure.






    Surface Blending - Begin


    Select the Round     tool from the Features toolbar.

    Click the Round options     tool on the Ribbon bar.

    Select Surface blend as shown in figure and click OK.





    Surface Blending - First Surface

    Select the trimmed surface as the first surface to blend.

    See figure.





    Surface Blending - Second Surface

    Select the BlueSurf as the second surface to blend.

    See figure.





    Surface Blending - Options

    From the ribbon bar, select G2 continuous from the Shape pull-down list.

    Surface Blending - Dir 1

    Click accept     on the ribbon bar.

    Indicate the direction towards the Bluesurf as shown.

    Indicate the other direction downwards as shown in figure.





    Blend Surface Created

    The two surfaces will be blend as shown in figure and a new surface will be created.






    Blend Surface - Once More

    Repeat all steps to create a blend surface on the other side.

    The bonnet has taken its preliminary shape.





    Parallel Plane

    Create a plane parallel to the x-y plane, well above the bonnet.

    In the new plane, create a sketch as shown.

    Select the Project Curve     tool from the Surfacing toolbar.

    Select the sketch as the curve to project.

    Click accept     on the ribbon bar.





    Project Curve - Body Step

    Select the bonnet surface below as the surface to project on.





    Project Curve - Direction Step

    Point the arrow down towards the surface and click.

    Click Finish on the ribbon bar.
