Switzerland 2003
"Un petit pays est-il condamne par sa petitesse meme a ne pas connaitre la grandeur?" C.F. Ramuz: Besoin de Grandeur

"Is a small country condemned by its very smallness not to know greatness?" C.F. Ramuz:
Besoin de grandeur
I was selected to participate in Switzerland Global Seminar 2003 with 29 other students. The topic was about mechatronics, a compiled of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science. We learned a concept of making autonomous Robots. We were there for three weeks and the school that we went to was Zurich University of Applied Sciences at Winterthur, northeast of Zurich. Monday thru Thursday were the time we had classes, which run from 8am to 5pm. Friday and weekend were the time we travelled to some swiss excursions and had some free time. On the last weekend we went to southern part of Germany.
Although we had a good time in Switzerland, we had a design project that needed to be finished in about 2 weeks. We were assigned to build (or to make the concept) a stair climber that aids disabled persons and elderly to climb stairs and suprisingly my group won the award for best Analysis and Dimensioning.
Overall, I did enjoy this trip. This was the first time I've been in Europe and I am looking forward to another trip.

PS: Many thanks to Bernard Bechara, Rebecca Freeman, Christopher Post and Hanna Ting for the contribution of the pictures.
