CFHL POWER RANKING

You asked, you got it. Our 2nd power ranking of the year. Biggest loss this week belonged to the Atlanta Thrashers,
Calgary Flames and Nashville Predators dropping 4 slots and the biggest gain went to Minnesotta with 4, thanks to
a 4-2-1 run since our last ranking. I'm sorry if this one wasn't as good as last one. I am short on ideas.

Any ideas to improve the looks or the comments, please drop me a line at senna4ever@yahoo.com

  Rk Team Rec. Comment
(3) Detroit 32-11-5 When you have a 14 game winning streak, you don't want to change anything in your lineup. We wouldn't even change our underwear.
(1) Phoenix 34-12-3 Future HOFs Oates, Yzerman and Roy didn't find our oxygen tank joke from last week very funny.
(2) Tampa Bay 32-14-2 A goalie's nightmare! The best attack in the league also holds the lead in power play conversion.
(5) Montreal 29 15 5 Let the rent-a-player period begin! The Canadiens sent a clear message out there. They want to win. Now.
(8) St. Louis 31 14 3 The additions of Foote, Carter and Cole increased their odds of defending their title. The Blues means business once again.
(9) New Jersey 31 15 4 Everybody talks about Rob Blake, but Zdeno Chara, +31, might be the key of the Devils success.
(6) Colorado 27 15 6 Will Mario retire as an Avalanche? Ladies and Gentleman, place your bets.
(4) Calgary 30 16 3 Teams hate to go to the Saddle Dome as the Flames have just lost a league leading 4 games at home. A 3 game losing streak and 5 in their last 9 made them drop in the ranking.
(10) San Jose 29 14 5 This is a team that loves overtime action. No losses and 5 wins in 10 overtime games so far!
(7) NY Rangers 26 17 7 No, Ohlund didn't go as well as we predicted. We will not say anything else this week, or else we will jinx it too.
(11) Pittsburgh 26 19 3 Zetterberg has a 6 game scoring streak and would be stealing votes from Heatley if he didn't spend a portion of the season injured.
(13) Washington 25 20 4 The winners of the Kim Gernack All Star Tournament hopes they will keep on the hot streak in the CFHL playoffs.
(12) Boston 23 19 6 The Doan for York deal worked fine for the Bruins so far. Doan has 8 points in 9 games while York has only 2 points in 8 games.
(16) Vancouver 21 17 9 Probably one of the most underrated forward in the world of hockey, Markus Naslund was sent away in a deal that brought depth. They must now find a way to improve, even more, their D.
(18) Florida 22 23 5 Burke and Smolinski, both ex-Flyers, are on fire as the Panthers reach top 8 in the Eastern Conference.
(14) Philadelphia 23-23-2 Rookie Chistov slowed down after getting almost a point per game in the first 20 games. His mentor Larionov will center the 2nd line for now, after posting good numbers in the 3rd line.
(17) Toronto 20 22 6 The bad news: Kudroc is out for a month. The good news: the Leafs will not have to play Kudroc anymore. The fans are thanking the Hockey Gods.
(15) Chicago 21 23 4 Jocelyn Thibault is saving their ass night in and night out.
(20) Ottawa 19 23 6 Lindros leads the league with 74 points. Not for long now that linemate Deadmarsh is out of town, after a trade by new GM Rob Blake. No not that one.
(21) Anaheim 20 24 4 You know it's tough times in DisneyLand when they come up with ideas for a brand new Mighty Ducks movie.
(23) NY Isles 17 26 5 Jere Karalahti is back on drugs. No, not that kind of drugs. He is injured, for God's sake. He is taking m-e-d-i-c-i-n-e.
(22) Los Angeles 17 27 4 How about some farm team cooperation? C'mon, 7 RWs and 9 Ds are a bit too much. None of our business though.
(19) Nashville 19 28 1 We are still trying to find out how did Tom Askey played -3 (!!) minutes and had at the same time 2 SOs for the Predators.
(27) Carolina 12 24 12 Anytime you have a hockey farm team in Baghdad, you know you are doomed. The heat, the bad ice, Saddam, the war. Oh no!
(29) Minnesotta 12 28 8 Walz proved us wrong and led the surprising Wild to win 9 points in their last 7 games. It must be a team record.
(25) Columbus 14 34 4 Rucchin and Dunham, among others, should become hot itens until the trade deadline.
(26) Edmonton 12 32 5 A 5 game suspension to their core player Martin Havlat helped to 0-6-3 record in their last 9.
(24) Atlanta 15 31 2 They have a fairly good team, but they just can't seem to win. Maybe a new goalie might help them out.
(28) Dallas 10 36 2 Adam Graves wants to get the taste of the playofs. He would be a good addition to any team looking for a pest.
(30) Buffalo 8 35 5 With a 3-14-3 record at home, we don't think they ever heard of home ice advantage.
