The start of a new season in my garden.  I had wanted to plant dozens of bulbs last Fall, but got lazy again (like the year before) and it never got done.  Looking at this picture now, I wish I had gotten them in the ground!  Maybe this year.....maybe not. LOL!  I've posted last Summer's pic below for your comparison.  New additons are the boxwood and the coral bells, and the creeping thyme has spread more. So far this year I've planted more creeping thyme in the walkway, new lavender plants, a new purple sage plant, some really funky shaped Ivy (no ideer what kind it is) around the posts, and a German Chamomile plant right up front in the crotch (for lack of a better word!) of the star.  It's an annual, so I figured if I didn't like it there, it wouldn't be around so long anyway.  I've also planted Greek Orengano, more Horehound, Chocolate Mint, Spearmint, Corsican mint (a darling little creeper), and violets in various spots around the yard.  I definately have a purple color scheme going on!!
Below is my garden centerpiece, a tribute to the Goddess. The plants at the corners are new Dwarf English Boxwoods.  Eventually I'd like to have a whole sheared and shaped design of boxwoods throughout the garden, not exactly the minotaur's maze...but you get the idea!  Alas, the lovely boxwood turns out to be a rather expensive plant to procure, and me being the type that desires instant gratification, would need to space them very closely to be able to start shaping and trimming them soon enough due to their slow rate of growth. As always, the Lamb's Ear is taking off royally, I have to cut it back regularly to keep it under control.  You can just make out the new Lavender, and Sage plants.  My Hyssop, which started out in front of the statue, has reseeded itself behind it, the parent plant dying off for some reason.  The creeper you see inside the star has started to creep out of it, but it doesn't over-winter very well, hence it's patchy look.  Another few months and it will be lush and covered with tiny, blue star-shaped flowers. Assuming the cats don't use it as a litter box!!  Thunder, in the pic below, is usually the culprit.......
