Above part of the backyard's patio garden, the creeping phlox in full bloom. I plan to lay new black mulch this year, soon as I get the extra cash to burn! I'm also planting a sunflower patch with mixed coloreds, some even bi-colored, pretty excited about that. Also going to plant morning glory vines in various spots around the yard, really jazzing it up this year, I guess. With all the new stuff planned, it will be a miracle to see the pond finally complete, but I'm determined yet again to get it done. Keep checking back for those pics!!
*****Update June 1*****
The pond is under construction!!! We had 5 ton of fill delivered to re-do the eroded banks. Wow, what a job that was, especially since I had no clue there were different grades of fill and we ended up with 5 tons of clay balls!!! Three days, some chiding from Tony, and a tiller rental later, the sides were done, the liner in, the stone work started, and the waterfall begun!! I've since discovered that my pump isn't big enough and have to upgrade. I've taken some pics and will post some as soon as I get them developed. It's not exactly like I pictured it, but at this point, I'm willing to go with it!! Digging and crawling in the dirt for days is a little too much reality to keep the perfect pond dream afloat!! lol |
