FORMULA: BE + PAST PARTICIPLE

*The object of an active verb becomes the subject of a passive verb.

SIMPLE PAST: Tom opened the door.
PAST CONTINUOUS: Tom was opening the door.
PRESENT PERFECT: Tom has opened the door.
