Course Guide-Basic

BASIC CURRICULUM

1.
Ensure that your student knows the following things:

-The location of the lecture hall/library, and within it the Herald's slateboard, calenders and the announcements and chronicles on the bulletin board.

2.
Attend a library open session or two with your student. Read through the Guildbooks with them so that they know more of their choices for roles within the castle and also make them familiar with the titles on Courtesy.

3.
Attend a courtesy circle meeting with your student. If you cannot attend a meeting, but your student can ask another Mentor if they could accompany your student to the meeting. If your student cannot make the meeting, contact ser Osric and kindly ask if there can be a time arranged for you and your student both to meet up with him and hear his lecture at some other time.

4. Guidelines and Restrictions

Make your student familiar with the Guidelines and Restrictions in the Castle as appropriate to their link.

6. Other notes:-

Some students will come to a decision on what their path is to be sooner than others.

Always encourage your student without rushing them.

For students that are not sure of their paths still after the steps mentioned above are complete it is suggested that you attend whatever open guild and group meetings that you can get to with them. Also, it is suggested that you show them in the direction of Crafters they can speak to.

For those who profess high ambitions such as the Royal Guard or the Royal Collegium, for example, it is well to inform them that such positions are only gained through many many moons of hard work - suggest to your students outer Guilds that can often aid in working towards thier goals (e.g.: Watch, Battlers, Duelists for the Guard. Languages, art, attending scientific lectures and healing for the collegium).
