GARDEN SOCIETY CURRICULUM

Students wishing to join the Garden Society should be aware of the following things:

The Guildmistress of the Garden Society is sera Roxanne. The members are: sera Tamm, sera Sirocco, Lhadra Finna, sera Perdita and sera Tinne. All will be happy to answer any questions regarding the Garden Society.

Only females are allowed to join the Garden Society proper. The Garden Society does not generally allow membership to other Guilds. This is due to the dedication required to nurse the plants of the Castle and assist in duties. However, some Guilds or groups may be made exception for, but this decision is solely the responsibility of the Guildmistress. It is worth telling the student that they should not try to join other Guilds until they are made members of the Garden Society and the Guildmistress can be sure that it will not detract from their duties.

A great love of all plants is seen in all members of the Garden Society. Members strive to care for all plants and bring the joy of them to other denizens of the Castle.

Students should aspire to attend at least one of the two weekly meetings, the times of which are:

Tiu's days at eight late bells.
Saturn's days at eleven early bells

Students are also advised to study plants and recall what knowledge that they may know. They can, if they wish, write these studies in a missive or a book and send it to the Guildmistress that she may see their work and efforts.

It is not required that those aspiring to the Garden Society all ready know great amounts about the care of plants. Those willing to learn are most welcome.

Students should read the Crafter's Guidelines to make themselves familiar with the rules on the distribution of plants, and on their meanings.

Also, if creative ideas for arrangements of flowers and bouquets can be thought of by the students and other suggestions that they might think of that will aid the Guild, these should be brought up in meetings to see what the members of the Garden Society think of them and to show that the student is placing thought into the work of gardening.

It can take several moons for a person to be made a member of the Garden Society, do not worry if your student is not made a member by the time they are ready to leave your mentoring. If these steps are followed by the student they will be well on the right track.
