																					Pino is Big Birdīs little nephew. In the Netherlands they call Big Bird; "neef Jan"

			Pino and Tommie where the first muppet on Sesamstraat. Although they started with a muppetless pilot, they came living in the street arround the 4th of januari 1976. Through the years they changed Pino like six times. The first Pino was created by Ton Hasebos and lasted just the first season. But was not easy to move arround. The second Pino was created by Leo N. Cahn, was not as heavy as before and made from pale blue feathers. The thirt version was an update. They only changed his head that was now slightly bigger and less neck. When America started the maintenance of the muppets in the early 80's, Pino got a fourth transformation. Now he looked more like Big Bird, his feathers where larger and everything was better in proportion... When Renee took over the part from Lejo Dijkgraaf, they changed Pino again. They made the feathers richer blue and covered his legs less then before.

															There where a lot of puppeteers who performed Pino: 1976 Dirk Grijspeirt (he was a Belgian balletdancer and the first puppeteer that performed him) 1977 Theo Joling 1978 Bert Plagman (now playing Tommie) 1979-1983 Erik J. Meijer 1984- 1990 Lejo Dijkgraaf 1991- now Renee Menschaar(she is the first woman who performs Pino)
																This makes Pino the muppet that had the most different actors and voices!

		The last time Pino got a makeover was in 1999. Now they had brighten up his blue feathers and changed the white feathers arround his eyes for yellow ones. He also has a shorter beak and looks now more like his personality age (3 years). Today Pino is performed by Renee Menschaar. She is his voice and left hand. Before this, she performed Tommie's right hand.
		From all muppets, Pino is the one with the largest maintenance. Every take, they gather all feathers and stitch them back on. Pino is the only muppet who goes back to USA for reperation, because after many takes his skin gets bald.
