Chapter Two

Okay, recap time. I jumped into a well, and when I climbed back out, everything had changed. Something was very wrong there. All logic failed me. Nothing was making sense.

I turned back to the well and looked down. There was water in the bottom of it. What the?! Now things were really starting to confuse me.

I leaned over the edge of the well even farther, catching a glimpse of my reflection in the water. I gasped and moved so I could take another look at my reflection. I had ears on the top of my head... red, pointed, animal ears.

I shouted in surprise, pinching myself to make sure that everything was real. The pinch hurt. I got a red mark on my arm. Everything was most likely real. The question was... how?

Sitting down on the ground, I discovered another thing that had changed about me. I had a red, bushy tail. It looked like a fox's tail, and it was very long.

Things had definitely gone wrong. I had fox ears and a fox tail. I was sitting in the middle of an unfamiliar forest by a well that was suppose to be dry and in the middle of a small building.

I suddenly had a strange desire to go back home and read that manga where the girl went back in time through the well. It sounded like it would be very handy at the moment. Too bad I couldn't figure out how to get back home. Perhaps the well could take me back...

It did seem logical. If the well had brought me there, then it could probably take me back.

"Kitsune, what are you doing in this Sesshoumaru's territory?" a cold, male voice asked.

"Huh?" I looked around me to find the speaker. Whoever the guy was, he was sure using strange words. Who or what was kitsune?

The speaker was a very tall man with long, silver hair. He was dressed in a funny-looking kimono thing, and he had a sword at his side. A large, fluffy, white thing was slung over one shoulder. His nails were more like claws, and he was bare-footed. His eyes were golden-yellow and cold. His ears were pointed like an elf's as well. I had a very bad feeling about him.

"Who are you?" I asked him very slowly. I wanted to make sure that he understood me.

"Sesshoumaru, Youkai Lord of the Western Lands," he replied. "Now tell me what you are doing in my territory."

"Nothing much," I told him. "I live back that way in a small housing development." I pointed in the direction my house was suppose to be in.

"No kitsunes live over there," Sesshoumaru explained to me. "Do not lie to this Sesshoumaru." The unsaid threat hung in the air.

"Okay, what are kitsunes?" I inquired, getting a little frustrated. If he was going to talk to me, the least he could do was use normal words. It was bad enough dealing with how funny he dressed and the weird markings on his face, but having to translate what he said was just troublesome.

Sesshoumaru looked at me like I was stupid, which was very annoying. It seemed to me that he wasn't going to explain anything. He was an arrogant jerk obviously.

"Listen up. If you want me to understand anything you are saying, then you better use language that I can understand," I said, my voice tight. I hated arrogant people, and I never got along with them very well.

"You dare speak to this Sesshoumaru like that?!" he demanded to know, reaching out and grabbing my throat.

"Let me go, you SOB!" I managed to say as I dug my fingernails into his skin. Blood began to trickle down my arm. I had wounded him. But how? I had cut my nails just yesterday.

Sesshoumaru released me. "Start talking, kitsune brat."

I took a few gasping breaths. "Okay, I understood the brat, but not the kitsune stuff," I responded, looking at my bloody hand. I had nails. They weren't very long, but they were sharp. "If you want me to explain ANYTHING then you better tell me what you mean when you say kitsune."

"Fox demon," he answered, glaring at me.

"I'm no fox demon," I told him immediately. "I'm a human. Okay! A human. My parents are humans, my brother is a human, I'm a human!"

"I do not have the patience to deal with you, kitsune brat. Either start making sense, or perish by my hands," Sesshoumaru threatened.

"Vaya al infierno, asshole," I retorted. "If I have to die, then I'm going to take you down with me."

Something clicked in my brain at that moment. The white thing on his shoulder. My friend had mentioned it before. She had told me many things about the guy who carried around the fluffy thing.

"Fluffy!" I said outloud with a laugh. I quickly shut up though. Fluffy was evil... or at least an enemy. I had just laughed at a known killer. Damn it. I was doomed.

"What?" he looked at me, face still calm and cold.

I sighed. Today was not my day. "I said fluffy. My friend calls you that all the time."

Sesshoumaru growled at me. Perhaps that hadn't been the best thing to tell him.

"Oh, shit," I said to myself, taking a step backwards towards the well. I hit the edge of the well with my heel. "Well, Fluffy, it's been nice knowing ya." With a quick prayer, I spun around and jumped into the well.

(*vaya al infierno - go to hell*)
