THE LINDEN PARK FOOTBALL TEAM
In the early 1950s, Carl "Tony" Gross organized a group of neighborhood boys from Linden Park into a football team.  Some of the equipment was discarded from the LaFollette High School team (or so we were told).  The team practiced in the upper pasture of the Con Troutman estate.  To my knowledge, this team only played one game against a group of boys from the Cooledge area.  Have you ever seen a more ferocious bunch?  Below are three of 8 photographs taken on this "picture day" for the team.
