How can I take everything the Bible says literally?
This point is very debatable, even amoungst top theologians and has become the means for separation and the vast number of Christian denomiations, especially in the United States. It is not really a question of wheter or not I can take everything the Bible says literally, it is more a question of what do i take literally and what do I take figuratively. The Bible is filled with tru stories, poems, songs, anecdotes, figures of speech and analogies. Which parts of the Bible are which. The best answer to that question is not a direct answer, but a statement that holds true for life in general. Truth is not created, it is discovered. And with that, I suggest you start reading and praying, you will find the answers you are looking for and on judgement day, if you have chosen to accept Jesus as you Lord and Savior, which I hope and pray you do, if you have not yet, your questions will be answered by the One who knows all answers. |
