Biblical Reasons to Accept Christ into your Life

If you have a Bible, it might be a good idea for you to get it, so that as we go through verses, you can look them up in your own Bible, and hilight things, circle things, mark things, whatever you want to do so that you remember what you've read, and so that you can better understand what is there

If you do not have a Bible, click here, it will take you to a list of people that can help you to get one. For now if you wish, feel free to print off any of the pages on this site and write whatever you want. Feel free to do this so that you might understand just that much more. It is not my word written here, it is God's word, and for that reason, feel free to use it

Biblical Reasons

Several of the reasons why it is absoulty essential that you become a Christian are outlined in the Holy Bible, and so we will go through a few of those and what they mean. We will use several verses, followed by a reflection on what those verses mean, so that we might clearly illustrate our point.

John 3:13-21

13No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven--the Son of Man. 14Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. 16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. 19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

Here we are told that God sent his only son to die for us. If we believe in Jesus, we will have life after our death and that life is eternity in Heaven, sitting with the Father at the greatest feast that will ever be. But if we do not believe, we will parish when we die, and more than that, we will have an eternity in Hell waiting for us. In Hell God's wrath is real, and that firestorm of flame, is waiting for all who do not believe in Jesus Christ and that he is our Savior.

Matthew 25:31-46

31"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. 34"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' 37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' 40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' 41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.' 44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?' 45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.' 46"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

Wow, what a mouth full, and quite a bit to take in all at the same time. But yet at the same time, it is easy to understand. To help you, I'll summerize a bit. Judgement day will come, and we will all stand trial before Jesus. There will be two groups of people that he splits us into, one with those who have accepted him into their life, and one group that has not. The group that has, will be the group on the right, and they will go into Heaven, a home that has been prepared for them, and there they will inherit the joys of the Father. The other group, the one on the left, are those who have denyed Jesus, and they will be sent into Hell. For them their eternity has also been prepared, but they will inherit eternal suffering, that will never end. You might be asking how long is an eternity, well this might help. Picture the world as a large brass sphere, the size that the earth is now. Every one hundered trillion years a bird will fly by and scuff the brass. This will continue to happen every one hundred trillion years until the brass ball is completely gone. Then triple that time, and you still have less than half of eternity. That to me is a really long time. Personally I would much rather spend that time in eternal joy and eternal pain and suffering. Wouldn't you?
