| On September 15th the post held a boot drive to raise funds for the families of the firefighters lost at the World Trade Center. The community support was overwhelming; people came up and emptied whole wallets and purses, some wrote checks. Children brought their piggy banks. Within a mear six hours the post raised $10,000. September 20th the members pictured below presented a check to the Syracuse Fire Department to give to the NYC firefighters' families. Thank you to all that donated. |

| Clean Sweep! The Solvay explorers swept up the competition at the OCVFA Convention in Fairmount this year. The post took 1st in the one man equipment race, 1st in the efficiency race, 1st in the wye race, 1st and 2nd in pushball, and 1st in parading! Most of all Solvay won the overall points trophy. Great job guys! |

| Solvay Fire Department Opens New Station The fire explorers worked along side the fire fighters moving equipment inot the new station located on Milton Avenue. Geddes Days For the third consecutive year the explorers soent the day pouring soda for the visitors Fund Raiser Post members assisted with a fundraiser at the fairground for the aunt of an explorer. Miltary Food Drive Explorers ran a boot drive collecting money and purchasing food and supplies which they packaged sent to US troops in Iraq. |
