Another statue of soldiers from the row of heroes, these two wrestling with a serpent which represents the spectre of Nazi Germany. Much of Russian sculpture uses snakes or serpent-like dragons to denote some evil which must be defeated. There is a statue in Moscow's Victory Park of Saint George slaying a dragon, which again represents the defeat of Germany.
