Volgograd

During the May 2002 Victory Day holidays, commemorating Russia's World War II victory over Germany, Vika and I took a trip to Volgograd, formerly called Stalingrad. The site of the most significant battle of WWII, the defeat of the German Army there was literally the turning point of the entire war, and to this day, the city and its veterans are revered for their achievement. I hope I have captured both the solemnity and the celebration surrounding Victory Day in Volgograd.
