Dramas: Ratings - Drama(out of 5 stars) Ratings - Esumi(out of 5 stars) Review
Love Revolution ****1/2 ****1/2 This show is almost perfect. It's a light hearted show with features the anxiety of Kyoko (Esumi Makiko) to seek for her dream man. She wants a special man and a special, romantic relationship. Suga Eiichiro (Fujiki Naohito) is the right man for her. At the beginning of every episode, we are educated with Kyoko's personal philosophy of love e.g. the missing sock, waiting for the taxi, etc. Every words mean something and it really put a thinking cap on me to ponder over her words.

This show has a very good ending and most of us are so attracted by Fujiki's charm, charimas and his sacrifice in the show. He is a good actor. I think he acts well in this show. Esumi is just as good. She is professional at work and adorable at home. :) As for Oshio, he is too young for Esumi. Yonekura makes a good friend of Esumi and they are cute as friends. The rest of the casts has done a reasonably good job in this show.

My favourite scenes in the show are:

1) Kyouko bringing an umbrella to Suga san and asks him, "Is it because you don't have an umbrella that you are still waiting for me?" (I feel so sorry for Esumi if it's really the case. She's foolish, but that makes her so special and attractive to Suga san. :) )

2) "I want a man!" (okie.......I really feel that she really wants a good man in ths show, the passion, etc.)

3) Finally, the last kissing scene set in the backdrop of the sunset. (really feel good about the happy ending.)

If you want something funny and romantic, this is the show for you.

Shomuni I, II, Specials **** **** This show features a group of condemned office girls with an incapable manager as the general affair department in Manfan company. The cream of this show is the different moral behind each stories and most of the stories really touch me. The office politics are not as interesting, but they are quite funny and reflect some reality.

Esumi is great!!!!!! She is so convincing that I hold two thumb up for her. Wacky and unconventional with a whole set of unique philosophy. Most of them are quite true. However, they are presented in a nasty way. The rest of the girls are very good too. 4 stars for good acting and philosophy. A rather motivational and educational drama and it depends on how you see it.

Konya wa eigyouchu (Open 24 Hours) *** *** This show is quite funny with Tamori. Takuya Kimura is as usual very cool. Esumi plays a small role in the show, so I can't comment much on her performance. A show with simple plot and predictable ending.
Dokushin Seikatsu (A single life) **1/2 ****1/2 This show is boring, slow pace and quite sexual. Kyokou holds a high position in a company who becomes a part-time prostitute to release her stress at work and home.

Esumi's character in this show is different from the rest. She casts off her usual 'cuteness' to a more demure, gentle woman who can provide pleasure to men. The 'bed' scenes of her, attending to clients are quite convincing. Not recommended if you want to see the 'cute' side of Esumi.

Overtime **** ****1/2 I deducted 1/2 star for an ending I do not like. I really hope that Soiichiro and Natsuki would be together. Soiichiro is so foolish. I think he lacks confidence that he thinks he can't provide Natsuki with happiness. Sorimachi and Esumi looks cute together too. Esumi is adorable and lively and you would simply love her and her tera panda.

My favourite scenes includes:

1) The egg throwing from Soiichiro to Natsuki. (it's really funny and cute esp. when the egg ended on Natsuki's head. You know that that egg is raw afterall. :) )

2) Soiichiro and Natsuki first meeting, outside the hotel room. (Both are hilarious.)

3) The scene in the living room. (a good talk with a good friend.)

Koi no Katamichi Kippu (One Way Ticket to Love) *** ***1/2 This show is quite funny and Esumi plays an outgoing lady who come back from overseas. She meets Inagaki where they get together after many obstacles. Inagaki Goro plays a nerdy and funny guy who is different from most of his roles. He is quite good in the show. Both of them do not have much chemistry though and the story is pretty predictable.
Tsuki no Kagayaku Yoru Dakara (Bright Half moon in the night) *** *** A show with simple plot. Esumi plays a demure lady who go for formality. However, both leading actors, Kishitani Goro, Kamikawa Takaya don't match well with her. There is a lack of chemistry and it just doesn't bring out the love theme well. The story is simple.
Koi wa Maiorita (Three Days Two Nights) ***1/2 **** Karasawa Toshiaki is a little exaggerting in this show (too stage acting-like). Esumi is good as a loney woman. I really love her blissful smile. Somehow, my heart sunk when Karasawa failed to come back alive the first time. It's quite a good show and Esumi is so pretty in this show. :)
Yoni mo kimyou na monogatari ***1/2 *** This show makes up a series of stories by different artistes. Esumi acted in a story, entitled 'mozaiku' (mosaic). In this story, Esumi acts as a TV producer and has a principle moral of reporting the truth. In one situation, she was forced to use mosaic (to hide the face of a dummy) and told a lie. Since then, she saw mosaic images everywhere......

Frankly, I like this story even though it is not considered anything very special. It seems mysterious and strange that Esumi keeps seeing mosaic images. It is actually a reflection of her inner guilt concious of not telling the real truth. She told the truth in the end and ceased her suffering. One shouldn't go against one's principle.

Esumi's acting is quite good in this show. I am too used in watching the adorable side of her that she doesn't seem very convincing in this show. However, I can draw a fine line between this character and the rest.
