Rickie Lee Jones

Born: November 8, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois RICKIE LEE released her first album, RICKIE LEE JONES, in 1978 and had a hit with CHUCK E.'S IN LOVE, but, as is often the case, the hit is the worst song on the album and gives the listener a false idea of what she is about. The rest of the album is excellent.

I find her extremely sensual in a "you only live once, so what the hell" kind of way.

"Popular music has always had its really horrendous stuff. I'll tell you, I would rather it was Britney than Barry Manilow. 'Mandy,' sutff like that, used to be all over the radio. It might be funny now, but when it's taken seriously and selling a lot of records.... So, be glad you have Britney and Christina. It could be a lot worse." RICKIE LEE JONES
