Sharp Shooters v M&P Builders |
SS 3 - M&P 6 25th May 2004 |
This was a disappointing match that we should have got something out of. The match started tightly and although we had a majority of the play in the first half, we just didn't create the chances. We went in at half time with a 2 - 1 deficit and we had every hope we could pull it back. The second half was ok, but with more goals conceded we eventually lost the game 6 - 3. Me, James and Tom got the goals tonight and made the score look respectable.\\\\\ I think we were suffering from the possibility of promotion, as we didn't play to the best of our ability. Although we played relatively well, we just didn't play as well as previous weeks Anyway onwards to next season. |

Sharp Shooters v M&P Builders |
SS 4 - M&P Builders 8 29th June 2004 |
This was a tight match which we started well, we went 2 - 0 up and looked tight at the back. We pinned them back and initially started frustrating them, tonight Paul McF played as Tom was doing overtime and he brought a different aspect to the team. We did well up until early in the 2nd half, until we crumbled/collapsed to lose 8 - 4 with no fight back. The goals were scored by Andy (2), one from the penalty spot, Paul with a quick free kick and 1 other I can't remember. Overall this was another disappointing and moral zapping result. Hopefully next week against The Chequers FC, we can play like we can do. |

SS 2 - M&P Builders 7 19th April 2005 |
Sorry this match report is a bit late, but I have been doing other things. This match was against a team that only 2 season ago were playing in the prem, so was always going to be a tough game. The first half was a tight affair and for the first 12 minutes both teams kept a clean sheet. They scored first after James C conceded a penalty by standing in the box and clearing the ball, which they scored comfortably past Dave. James C made up for his earlier misfortune, by latching onto a neat pass from Andy and comfortably finishing in the bottom corner. At half time it was 1 – 1 with all to play for. The 2nd half was less convincing by us, with M&P putting 6 passed us and our only reply being a nice strike from Paul. The defending was poor, but M&P probably deserved there goals. Overall this was a match that I was glad to get out of the way early in the season. Onto next week against 5-Alive, hopefully we will win for 3 vital points. |

SS 1 - M&P Builders 8 14th June 2005 |
Apologies for the time taken to write this, I have been doing exams, revision and getting drunk to commiserate. On Tuesday we played M&P Builders in a tough match, both of us were in the top 3 at the start of play and should have been closer than it ended up. In the first half M&P were all over us, we were playing badly though and didn’t play as a team like in previous weeks. At half time we were about 3 – 0 down and although playing badly, I thought that we would be able to pull it back. The 2nd half didn’t start much better conceding an early goal and they went on to score 4 more that half to destroy our morale. The only positive note for the night was that I scored a goal into the bottom corner, although in the context of the 8 we conceded, it was nothing. Overall this was a shocking performance and we deserved to lose 8 – 1. |
