This was the first match of the season and we got of to a bad start. The match started without a proper keeper, so Steve played in goal for the first 3 minutes. Our new temporary keeper (Ricki) turned up after this and went straight into goal.
We quickly went 1 – 0 up after a goal from me, but we soon conceded 3 to go into half time behind. After the half time break it was a tight match, they scored a couple, whilst me and Steve also scored. The final result in this match was 5 - 3, yet the real issues with this match was the standard of refereeing.
He repeatedly made bad decisions, disallowed my perfectly good goal and also disallowed a goal from Paul close to the end of the game. Overall this was a bad start to the season which was not helped by the refereeing. Next week we have Chequers, who conceded 20 goals last week. |
