It's hard to explain how or why... A few years ago, I suddenly decided my car's name was "Horton", after the elephant of Dr. Seuss fame. Sometime after that, my wife's car was dubbed "Cindi Lu", after the little Who in the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.
It just seemed to make sense to carry on the tradition for my boat... Hence "Yertle the Turtle"... and it doesn't hurt that "On the faraway island of Sala-ma-Sond, Yertle the Turtle was king of the pond!"
