I love to run. Sorta.
And some day, I'll get my little piece of cheese!

CAVEAT -- This is my version of a running commentary on my training progress... sort of a journal, if you will. If you don't know who I am, what I'm talking about, or why you should care, well.... you can stop reading at any time. :) Thanks, love ya!
So, I've been doing this working out deal now for about 10 months. There's some improvement I've seen... most of it is under the covers, so to speak. I feel stronger, more capable, but there's still no changes on the outside yet. Not many, anyway.

I hooked up with a local triathlete who's got an enormous heart and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much enthusiasm for getting lazy people, like myself, motivated and moving. So, now he tells me what to do, and I more or less do it, depending on the day and whether or not I feel like getting yelled at via e-mail the next day for not doing it.

:D

Not that I would eeeeeeeeeever flake out on a workout.

Um, yeah.

I injured my back in mid March and have more or less been sidelined since, but I'm getting back into the swing of things. When I'm at Eric's, I tend to fall off the motivational wagon and let the workout slide, but I'm working on that. He's in a quiet neighbourhood that's great for walking/running down the middle of the street. Sometimes he comes with me, sometimes not, but it works out. (no pun intended, of course)

Right now I'm on a 32-34 mins/day schedule, walking, with 3x1 min intervals. I know it's not much, but considering running for 20 seconds at a time used to feel like the end of the world, I think I'm doing pretty good. I found a gravel track in my neighbourhood, so the pain in my shins is considerably less, now. Yay! Which means I can move faster and harder. Yay! Which means I'm burning more energy/fat. Yay!

And someday, I'll wear shorts while working out.

In DAYLIGHT, even!

YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!
