Febuary 1st - underdogs of Nipomo Hello. Firstly I'd just like to say a big thank you to everyone who came out to the Jug show and supported us through the new jams. Hopefully they'll become old friends in time. I got a few pictures from the night, which can be found on the olden gigs page along with a fuller report. We had a pretty fun holiday after the show including some New Year festivities and a trip to the dogs, but for now Bryn is back in Norway, David is in London playing some shows around the capital with Dan formerly of Johnny Foreigner mk.1, check out www.myspace.com/gentlefriendly for more! Andrew is back at work and I'm in Nottingham. So it's back to term time writing for the last/maybe penultimate time. Expect a new record/shows when we return. Until then I shall try and dig out some stuff from the SEF vaults for Myspace and Youtube, keep a look out. Ok so Play safe, and we'll catch you in a few months. RaLPh (SeF) p.s here is a link to that long awaited David-Lloyd-Ralph cameo in Distophia's 'Robert Redford' video December 16th - from a winter wonderland Sup. Just a quick update to let you know we're playing a show between Christmas and New Years at the Jug of Ale in Moseley on Wednesday December 27th. Joining us will be our old buddy Sensei C with the What Supreme as HLI, and Sunset Cinema Club who you would be insane to miss. It'll be £4, doors open around 8:30pm. Should be more of an update on recording and new songs in the post-Christmas post, but for now, have a very merry Christmas, hopefully see you on the 27th. ReLPh October 5th - highway to lowdown Hey, everything is now wrapped up for Autumn, Bryn has shipped off to Norway and by all accounts is having a great time and Andrew is on a rig in Equatorial Guinea (look it up). David has landed himself a fine property in London for the year (with a rehearsal basement, yeh!) and I'm back in Nottingham. However it was a productive summer, you can now read all about it in the 'Olden Gigs' section, including pictures if you need a visual.. Also as we finally got started on our new record B.V Lice if you make your way over to myspace you can hear 'Pasta Dude' now and in the next week or so i'll put 'B.V Lice' on there too. Recording will continue at Christmas, there's no news on shows as of yet, needless to say you will be the first to know if/when there is some. So take care, catch you later. RaLPh (S.eF) August 9th - our band is gamekeeper rock Sup. Just checking in with what's been happening this summer so far. We got off to a bit of a slow start what with Andrew and David out of the country (coast to coasting Canada and teaching in a language farm in Germany), but we found ways to kill the time. House parties and some great SCC/Johnny Foreigner/Analphabet shows aside Bryn and me played a couple of acoustic gigs, firstly with Jan at the Spotted Dog then as Sizlac and Filtron at the Sunflower Lounge. Thanks to everyone who came along. Andrew and David are back now so this week we've been putting the finishing touches to 'Wet Ender' and if progress remains steady we should get some recordings done before Bryn ships off to Norway, either way it'll be nice to tie up some loose ends and get started on yet more songs. (Keep putting records out!). Time for sleep, gotta be sharp for practice hope your summer's going well, see you around. RaLPh p.s keep an eye out for Distophia's new video 'Robert Redford', me David and Lloyd supply some fine dance moves May 20th - Rick Wakemen's journey to the centre of the earth Hey. So it's been a while, too long, let me bring you up to speed. Things have been fairly quiet on the SEF front since the last show. Andrew is in the final stages of his Geology degree and David and myself have had our fair share of studying to do. However Bryn has been maintaining a healthy youtube presence. Thomas Shit reminds me of 'Stuart' by the Dead Milkmen. In other news extended SEF (minus Andrew) travelled down to London to see Henry Rollins which gave us a chance to hit the record exchanges, listen to a lot of GBV and play football with rats for goalposts. needless to say it was a great trip. |
