What's It All About?

Ibiza seems to cater for every imaginable taste: around the coastline you find large tourist resorts offering every comfort imaginable - and only ten minutes away, time seems to stand still in little white villages nestling in amongst the pine forests.
Wild parties, house music and half-naked beauties at the 'in'-beaches on the one hand, small, deserted sandy coves on the other. By the sixties Ibiza had attained world-wide fame as a haven for hippies and artists. In the seventies, the international Jet-Set discovered this charming island for themselves, staging legendary parties. Today, it seems that the international techno-house scene has chosen Ibiza as the party capital of the world.

Places To Go

...and what we did there...

Week 1 consisted of Rob, Shaun, Fogg, Mike in the Tampico and Andy, Greg, Pete and Pete2 in the appartments opposite - Med Playa. We met up outside the hotels at about 4:30am on Sunday after arriving from the airport. Both groups had come from different parts of the country - Bristol and Manchester - yet we had still managed to get our selves sorted. Cool!

Before we went on holiday we were told that we'd need a couple of days to get used to the place before we started exploring and going to every place possible. Good job we booked a two week holiday then! I'd have to admit that it's true - you need a couple of days to just relax and check out the area. So for the first night or so we soaked up the sun and found out where the cheapest booze shop was!!
It was a hot (obviously) Sunday afternoon and we treked for what seemed like hours to this 'mystical' supermarket that Rob had been told for. We had probably wondered out of San Antonio Bay into the desert area when we finally found the super-market. It was pretty packed, and we found 6 packs of 1 litre San Miguel at a very nice price! So we each popped one of them into the trolley and made our way to the check-out. The heat outside was annoyingly: hot, and the 6-pack bottles: heavy - so Rob & Shauns clever plan was to hijack the shopping trolley from the supermarket and take the drink home in it! It was a long push back but a lot less hassle. Rob moaned about having to push it along the main road but we got back to the hotel fine and parked the trolley in the parking space amongst the many mopeds.

The San Miguel was put to good use in a game Rob had come up with. When we moved into our room a piece of snorkel was found. Rob attached this to a fizzy drink bottle and built his own "beer bong"! Both Shaun and Mike ... as well as Rob gave it a shot making much mess as it foamed up every where! Rob spat it over the balcony and made enough mess to get Spiros the hotel 'bloke' out shouting up loads of Spanish crap at us. So we hid! We'd all got a bit tipsy so decided to explore the hotel more. We trotted down to the pool area and then just ran and dived into the pool - still dressed!

First place we visited was the West End in San Antonio town - Sunday night. Took the ferry over. It was packed and we were already pissed from the beer bong earlier! Pandy came with us too - but left the rest of his tribe to their own devices. We aquired a bottle of peach snapps along the way and brought it home to consume at a later date - some of us had already had a little too much!

arse.

We managed to visit the following clubs: Eden, Es Paradise, Amnesia along with famous places Cafe Del Mar, Mambo and San Antonio West End. We also buzzed into Ibiza Town a couple of times on some rented Mopeds and popped into the AguaMar for a splash about one day. [more detail will be added later]

Top 10 Reasons Why Mits Didn't Go

Mitesh is the man who caaaan - 't. Although he's full of it, he didn't fancy the idea of a holiday with the lads - sad git. He gave no reason for his refusal so here's our ideas behind his abscence...

  1. Mummy wouldn't let him
  2. Because he'd have to walk the walk rather than talk the talk
  3. He really went away with Darren strawberry picking
  4. Too busy bashing the ferrit
  5. Too busy revising for his university exam re-sits
  6. Secretly under the thumb of Sej
  7. They might not let him back in to the country...
  8. ...Or out of the country, for that matter
  9. His belly's too fat for the beach
  10. Favourite for relegation on the league table
