Tiger Woods 2003 Courses (will work with current version)

Kathryn Acres V2

My first course. The version 2 fixed many problems of a novice designer. Set in northern Florida, Acres courses through a pine forest. The back 9 runs around a large lake. A country club course that was lengthened for V2.

Kathryn Bayside V2

My second course. The version 2 fixed many problems of a novice designer. Set along the Oregon coast, the finishing holes on both nines run along a Pebble Beach - like rocky cliff coast. In some respects this is my favorite course. The version 2 changed the colors of the grass that nicely enhanced its look, and the tees were lengthened to create more of a tournament layout.

Kathryn Canyon

My third course, which has not been updated to date. Set in Washington state near the Columbia River, Kathryn Canyon features several holes that run along a river at the base of the canyon and several that climb its walls. The course plays on the short side but offers significant challenges.

Kathryn Dunes

My fourth course. A 2004 version exists.

Tiger Woods 2004 Courses

Kathryn Dunes 2004

Kathryn Dunes was the first course I designed to be a championship course - that is, with both length and challenge in mind. As a result, it is too tough for me, a poor cyber golfer. Set in the New Mexico desert, Dunes presents a challenging finish, where the final three holes border and run through a large man-made lake.

Kathryn Elysium

My first course designed for the newer version of TW, it was planned as a 2003 release but was quickly converted for 2004. A course that demands shaping shots around doglegs, Elysium, set in the Finger Lakes region of New York, is a course that should challenge the best golfers. Perhaps my most fully-realized vision to date.

Kathryn Firth

My first course constructed almost completely in the 2004 version of the CA, Kathryn Firth is the first foreign course by SJS Designs. A seaside links course in Scotland, Firth challenges with both deep weed rough and the ocean, which comes into play on most of the inward nine.

Kathryn Grotto at Julia Rapids

Probably my most satisfying design to date, the course runs along Julia Creek in Sacramento, CA. Lush green and lined with trees, Grotto's layout uses the creek in several spots and uses 137 bunkers to challenge the golfer. Less dramatic than my previous courses, but fairer and more realistic.

Kathryn Hollow

Set in Great Falls, Virginia, Kathryn Hollow is a par 71 tournament course with 3 short (but challenging) par 5s and a variety of challenging holes. Hollow is a sterner test than Grotto, but equals Grotto in fairness and a natural look.

Kathryn International

Set in Kentucky along the Ohio River, International features dramatic mounding and Whistling Straits-style bunkering. Over 350 bunkers challenge the golfer.

Kathryn Juniper

Set in Bend, Oregon, Juniper is the Blue Monster of the Kathryn courses with water in play on 16 holes. The back nine features 3 par 5s including two with island greens. Despite the water and length of the course (with a few par 4s pushing 500 yards), Juniper has wide, forgiving fairways and subtle, but but fair greens.

Currently there are two design projects in progress: Julia Acres - Par 3, which uses the layout of Kathryn Juniper to create a par 3 course, and Kathryn Kauai, which features my most dramatic elevation changes. A possible future real course design is The Reserve Golf and Vineyards (Tournament Course) though I have trouble following through on real design projects.
