"Don't turn your head. Look at the bandaged place. That's where the light enters you."
~ Rumi

A general practice of clinical psychology serving young adults through late life, individuals, couples and groups using an interpersonal/mindfulness-based approach to healing.
~
Dr. Franklin's work is founded on an interpersonal /mindfulness-based approach to mental health and well-being.  This approach involves consciously exploring how individuals are operating in relationship to themsleves and others.  She challenges her patients to bring mindfulness and compassion to their moment-to-moment experience, which means acknowledging the truth of it.  This process expands the individual's capacity to be present despite discomfort.  Patients are challenged to "show up" for their life by clarifying issues, values, developing insight/compassion, and implementing skillful problem-solving.  Dr. Franklin believes that being fully human is a challenging, lifetime commitment and there are many paths to its achievement.  Committing yourself to the process of psychotherapy will help you attain the meaningful life, work, and relationships you desire.
