The end of the year banquet, better known as the Team Bash, starts at approximately 5:00 p.m. Saturday and goes on until about 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Along with the current Team players we also invite our retired players. At the Bash we have our yearly tournaments in the areas of crib, darts and pool. These tournaments are always highlights of the Bash. To win a trophy, you and your partner have to compete in a round-robin event. If you finish first at the end of the evening, then you and your partner get your picture taken with the appropriate trophy. The picture eventually ends up in the current team photo album. Your team's name and your names are inscribed on the trophy which you each get to keep for approximately a five month period. For the Thirtieth Anniversary, there were 24 people in attendance including 10 alumni. At about 8:00 p.m. Rick Cluett gave a great speech thanking me for my thirty years of devotion to the team both as "Team President" and as a player. This was followed by a round of applause from all the active players and alumni who were in attendance. Since I was stepping down as "Team President," it was nice to be recognized for all the time and effort that I gave to THE 6 PACK. |
