They say a good wood firing is one in which you put in a load of pots and get 1 decent one out. The fact that I have gotten three out of this kiln, should be a hell of a firing, but somehow this firing left me feeling as if I needed to focus more on my work, and less on the process of firing. Skills do not develop part time. A half finished pot will look half finished after it is fired.
This particular firing made me realize that firing a wood kiln is HARD work. We fired this time with four people, which spacewise is perfect for this kiln, but a real bear when it comes to completing the work. The best part about this kiln though is the group that is firing. The social aspect is tremendous, so is the food. Can't wait to fire again. ANYWAY, HERE are the PICS! This time Deb did the honors.
