Sue Richardson is an unusual combination of jazz vocalist and trumpet player, one of just a few females singer, trumpet players worldwide.  Her swinging trumpet contrasts wonderfully with her smooth vocals.  She began performing from an early age, touring with bigbands by the age of 16.  Sue has spent many years touring the world, gigging in 33 countries , in hotels, jazz clubs and on cruise ships.   Sue has performed for an amazing variety of events around the world from The Last Night Of The Proms to a rap CD for the top South Korean night club Pharaohs.  You can even hear her  recorded version of The Girl From Ipanema being played in Rio in the famous bar where the song was written.  Her music is enjoyed by royalty, Ambassadors and Presidents.

Sue is most at home singing and playing jazz. From sassy trumpet to warm, mellow ballads Sue has something to please everyone.  Her debut album released in May 2004 is brought to you by
Splash Point Records, the label which released Liane Carroll's fabulous solo album 'Billy No Mates'.    In 2002 Sue was delighted to be chosen as a finalist at the Marion Montgomery Jazz Diva Awards.  Sue teaches singing and also helped to develop the Pop & Jazz Vocals examination Syllabus for the London College of Music.
"If the end of the month finds you needing to slip into something a little more comfortable, then a night of slinky jazz with the Sue Richardson Trio will swaddle your ears like so much sonic silk. Signed to Splash Point Records, Richardson is one of the few female singer/trumpet players worldwide. As her version of "The girl from Ipanema" is regularly played in Rio in the famous bar where the seminal samba number was penned, her credentials as a singer and arranger are firmly established."    Insight Magazine, February '05

"Sue Richardson is a vocalist with a difference. Not only does she have a pure and flawless voice, but she also plays a commanding and lyrical trumpet."

"The debut album from this amazing singer/trumpet-player, mixing very good arrangements of standards with several original songs, including the title track.  What a great album from a gifted singer and trumpeter. If you enjoy the lush sound of Diana Krall and are looking for a British alternative, look no further.  Relaxing, smooth and mellow jazz for all."
