SOF Paulpietersburg's First Chance

The 2003 Winter tutorial session in Paulpietersburg turned out to be a success. Four tutors were dedicated to assist about 12 grade 12 students from the area of Bilanyoni in Paulpietersburg. The tutors reffered to herein are:
         - Mr ND Sibiya
         - Mr SN Nene
         - Miss Nombuso Mlotshwa
         - Mr SF Msimango
Duration: Monday 30 June 2003 to Saturday 04 October 2003
Venue:     Kwasa High School (Bilanyoni)

Certificates and Awards

Certificates of participation for students have been awarded to those who attended the 2003 winter session. Six students met the minimum requirements to obtain the awards and award-giving ceremony took place on Saturday, October 4, 20003,as scheduled.
In addition, the top 3 students were rewarded with a merit certificate of excellence.

Tutor certificates are due to be published on 14 February 2003.

NO SOF Classes for EMondlo

For the first time since its inauguration, SOF will not open its EMondlo branch this year. SOF has always hosted its sessions at Isolomuzi High School since March 2001. This year, however, things were different. This is due the lack of sponsorship and the apathy shown by local leaders to winter schools and education in general. The results has seen all winter schools declining and most eventually falling apart.

SOF condemns this situation although there is very little that may be done. SOF has always shown passion for education and the will to assist where coditions permit.
