Hey There!

'Bout time you got here!

Welcome to my page The Gyrating Jelly Bean

Hello there!! I hope you find my page an optomistic haven of smiles. People usually tell me I'm too optomistic, which I do not believe is possible, so I hope my page reflects that and leaves you with a smile on your face. *smile*

I'm redoing my page after having it be the same for quite a while. Please bear with me if it's not very exciting yet. I am working on that. *S*

I'm hoping to get more quotes on here to make you smile, but for now just a few.

I'm no longer afraid of storms. For I am learning to sail my own ships. ----Louisa May Alcott

When you come to the edge of all the light you have, and you must take a step into the darkness of the unknown, believe that one of two things will happen to you: either there will be something solid for you to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly. ----Patrick Overton

A richness in money can never satisfy a lonely heart. However, a richness in friends is priceless. ---Me

Happiness is a disease. Spread it today! ----Me

Imagine a world in which we spread happiness as readily and consistently as we spread AIDS. ---Me

That's all the quotes I've got for now. I want to encourage you people to do the unexpected. Be spontaneous. Practice random acts of kindness--always.

Smile at strangers. It's easy, it takes no effort, smile even when you don't feel like it. It'll make YOU feel better. Take a walk..pick a flower...give it to a stranger you pass on your way home.

One of my fondest memories growing up is something I did with my father. We were driving home from one small Oregon coast town, to another just 30 miles away. There was road construction, and it was raining. (as it often does on the Southern Oregon Coast!!) As we got to the point where we were directed to take a detour, there was a woman from the road crew standing there deterring people from going through the road construction.

Dad and I had the same idea. We stopped at a small market not far away and bought a cup of coffee and tucked in some creams and sugars. Then we drove back to the woman, rolled down my window, and gave it to her. I think she was surprised, very surprised, but she took the coffee with a smile and we traveled on our way.

I felt great. Dad felt great. And it took a small effort and $0.60. The woman was greatful and it put a smile on her face and I'm sure warmed her on that chilly coastal evening.

There are needs all around us. Big needs, small needs, in between needs. It takes an effort as tiny as opening a door for someone to as large as organizing a community wide event.

I hope you enjoyed my page and it put a smile on your face. I encourage you to smile every chance you get. If you don't feel you have a reason to smile, look to God and smile because he's given you another day. Smile because you are healthy. Smile because you are loved. Smile because the shirt you are wearing looks great with your socks. Smile cause you've got a great smile. Smile cause it's catchy and it'll make others smile. Are you getting my point? SMILE!!

*smiling* Enjoy your day, be spontaneous, and do something for you without feeling guilty. God bless!!
