Gift Wish List

Updated 7 December 2008

It seems like it's hard to pick out the perfect gift. I don't care whether you get me anything or not, but if you want to get me something, here's an idea of what I would like for Christmas, my birthday, or any occasion to help you out. I have it organized by the type of item.

Music

* See my CD wishlist at Amazon. Get the used ones, since I'll enjoy it more if I think you're saving money on it. It's also been a while since I had a chance to check out new music, so if you see anything that you think that I might like that's similar to what's on the list, then use your own judgement.
* An instrument processor of some sort, like Proteus.
* Any instruments that I don't have, such as a violin, oboe, whatever.
* Paid membership for any song club that may be useful, like NSAI, SongU, or TAXI, Broadjam, etc.

Arts/Crafts
* Acrylic paint
* Fabric, esp. the type that's easy to work with. Scraps are even better.
* Candle making supplies
* Soap making supplies
* Furniture staining supplies
* Supplies for making cat trees - Carpet remnants, Sisal rope, wood, etc. * Scissors
Computer/Electronic Stuff
* Webcam
* MP3 recorder and/or player.
* IBM Selectric II typewriter that works. Extra typewriter balls to go with them would be a plus
* Collection of graphics for address labels
* Books / study guides for SQL+, Security+, or Network+
* A good KVM Switch (for the PC)
* CD-Rs
* The full version of a MSN Zone game, such as Diner Dash, Magic Match, or Build-a-Lot
* Digital camera with SLR
Clothes and other Girly Stuff
* Nice clothes for work: Shirts and pants. Casual clothes are good. Avoid bulky sweaters and bulky coats. Actually, avoid sweaters period.
* Nice shoes for work. Shoe size = 7.5

* Nice sheets or blankets for my bed (full)
* Another pair of glasses or contacts, preferably w/ my prescription
* Fancy socks
* Bath and Body Works: Lotion, shower spray, shower gel. Avoid the glycerin bar soap. The other types of bar soap are good.
* Victoria's Secret: Bras, underwear, perfume, shower spray, lotion.
* Bath towels with fancy designs on them. For an idea of the kind of design I might like, see the Crafts section.

House Stuff
* Fire wood
* Welcome mat
* Cookbook or collection of recipes
* Scent stuff or candles
* Large area rugs
Miscellaneous

* Postage stamps. New or used, or from any country, whatever.
* Lottery tickets, preferably the instant win tickets (since I might forget to check the lottery #s)
* Chocolate candy, preferably plain types like Hershey kisses, M&Ms, & Almond Joy. Chunky is good too.
Avoid types like Snickers & Milky Way & definitely anything w/ weird fruits in them.
* Cat furniture, especially the large ones that the cats would love to climb
* Cat food
* Anything else that the cats would enjoy
* Those breaded cookies with the chocolate on them. Bahlsen is one brand.
* Money money money! Money!
* Gift certificates. Some good places: Best Buy, Bath and Body Works, Express, Wendy's, Staples, Target, Shoppers, Trader Joe's, a gas station, thrift store, anywhere else you think I'd like shopping.
* Make something
* Polish pottery
* Take me out to lunch/dinner
* Anything else that you think I can use or for some reason forgot to put on this list. As a general rule, I like gifts that are practical, even if they're things you wouldn't instantly think about giving to someone as a present. For the most part, I prefer funny/comical over sentimental, and things that are practical.

I wouldn't mind if you bought the stuff used or at a thrift store (depending on the item). New is good too. Whatever works.

Unless if you're making these items personally or for some reason just stand out to you as the perfect gift for me, avoid:
- watches
- jewelry (earring studs are good)
- coasters
- boxes
- stuffed animals
- posters
- calculators
- mouse pads
- lint removers
- anything else that I have a surplus of or just have no use for.

See! I'm not that hard to shop for.
