Butterflyfish at Hanauma Bay, on the island of Oahu, Hawai'I

The Saddleback Butterflyfish (Chaetodon ephippium) isn't common in Hawai'i, but like everyone else, it loves to visit Hanauma Bay!
Raccoon Butterflyfish (Chaetodon lunula) usually travel in pairs.
The Lemon Butterflyfish (Chaetodon miliaris) is found only in Hawai'i.
The Ornate Butterflyfish (Chaetodon ornatissimus) is rarely seen, but when it is, it is seen with its companion.
The Threadfin Butterflyfish (Chaetodon auriga) distinguished by its upper trailing fin, is also found in the Red Sea and Australia.
The Forcepsfish (Forcepiger flavissimus) can swim upside down and backwards when startled.
The Bluestrip Butterflyfish (Chaetodon fremblii) "Kikakupu" is found only in Hawai'i, and has no close relatives. Another good reason to visit Hanauma Bay!
Kihikihi (Zanclus cornutus) are in a class by themselves!
