The night passed
and Brian woke up with the sun shining down on his face. After thinking
about everything and what would happen he knew the only thing to do was
to take her in. Even if that slowed down the tour, even if his friends
were against it, even if he had to pay a million dollar law suit and even...
even if that meant the love of his life leaving him. He knew this would
change his life forever in every way possible.
He made up his
mind and called Leigh. She actually took it pretty well... after a few
times of hanging up, she said she had to think about it. Not yes nor no.
Which in the case was a good thing. He was anxious, of course. It was the
love of his life, his soon-to-be wife. He decided to clear his mind and
go for a walk on the park. He went to his room and woke Anna up. She was
a little scared but seeing Brian she put on a smile. Seeing her smile made
something to Brian. Something new, something good, something he could not
describe in words, something.. he could only feel.
He picked
Anna up and bathed her, her giggling all the way as well as he smiling
at her innocence. He dressed her up and went to his walk on the park.
At the park
everything was okay. Anna seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere while Brian
was deep in thought. After a few minutes the little girl started
crying and broke Bri out of his trance. He looked at her and smiled. Picking
her up he started rocking her. She stopped crying and fell asleep on his
shoulder. His mind stopped working as he relished the feeling. ‘So, this
is what being a dad feels like.’ He thought happily. He put her on the
car and went to the furniture store. After a couples hours everything was
settled and the crib would be at his house in the morning. After that he
headed home.
He checked
his messages waiting for one from Leigh, his heart fell when he saw he
had no messages. He sighed and went to put Anna to bed. He went into the
guest room and put her between the pillows he had arranged.
“She’s a
beauty.” A voice startled him and he turned around.
"Leigh!
You scared me. What are you doing here?” he said softly as to not wake
Anna up.
” I was up all
night thinking about what you asked me.” She replied just as softly
Brian stared
at her afraid to ask what she had decided. Leigh could tell he was afraid
of her turning him down. She knew him well enough. She looked at the little
girl, then at Bri’s expecting face. With a straight face she spoke.
”She’ll
break a lot of hearts when she’s older...” she looked at the little girl
once again and then at Brian. “We’ll have to keep an eye on those boys.”
She said a faint smile appearing in her face. Brian sighed in relief and
smiled big. He went to Leigh and they hugged tightly. Letting the other
know just how much they loved each other, words weren’t needed while they
let the tears of fear, anticipation, and love speak for them.
