Build Your Own Crab Trap
Righty, I promised to show how I made a crab trap, and here it is.
This project can be completed for as little as $15 if you have screws, or $18 if you don't.
You need the following items:
-1.Wood or Somethingelse for the frame
-2.Chicken Wire
-3.Wire
-4.Hinges
-5.Eyehooks (a latch set is good)
-6.Wirecutters
-7.Pliers
-8.Drill
-9.Lots of Screws
-10.Saw (to cut wood) (duh)
-11.Rope (Not Cotton, get Nylon)
I apologize for this article, I wrote it before I had completely finished building the trap.  Unfortunatly, I lost all the pictures on my site later on.  I retook the pictures after the trap was completed and edited them for posting.
Don't make any mistake on buying the rope, get the nylon.  Water will rot the cotton.
First of all, you need to figure out how long each side needs to be.
-Try the base at: 33 inches (these will be the longest boards on the entire structure).
-The vertical boards will be 15 inches.
-Try 21 inches for the boards that determine the width.
-You will need 4 of each of the above.
-Next, you will need wood for the door to the trap.
-You will need 2 of both of the following:
  -1.5 x 1.5 boards measuring 21.5 inches and 15.5 inches
On to Part Two!
