The easiest way, the shortest way, and the best way
to appreciate your ilfe is laughing
(many people say that).

However, the hardest thing is how to get there,
how to laugh happily.

Sometimes (many times) I stupidly ask my clients
"
what do you do to make yourself feel happy?"
Well, if they know how to make themselves happy,
why they come to see a counselor or a fortune teller?

One of my clients rarely smiled. He said there was nothing serious in his life, but he had nothing to appreciate.
He also said nothing was exciting or interesting.
I think some people may feel this way.
Is it a problem? Being neutral or stoical is a problem?
For this client, he said he was unhappy with that.

Theoretically, extremely good and extremely bad are unstable.
Many religious idealists may suggest to be in the middle.
BUT how about a person who insists that she or he has no feelings both in happiness or sadness?
Personally, I do not credit that kind of persons.
Maybe I have never seen any of them before.

One of my clients said he did not like reading comics.
He said he did not like jokes or life shows at which other people were always laughing.
He told me that he liked watching TV but it just helped him to waste his too much time.

I told him about a comercial advertisment that I always laugh
when I saw it.
He told me about another ad. that he thought was more funny. He then smiled. And I told him that he was smiling.

He felt good about the ad. even if he saw it in a few seconds.

How about you?
Is there any moment in your life that you feel good or happy about? Even in a second !

When I was graduating from junior high,
my friends signed my friendship (book) that
"
I hope everytime you read this, you will recall good things and good moments we have together. I hope these will make you feel better when you are sad. I hope these will make you feel happier when you are happy."

At that time, I had no idea how important those words can be.
And it's true now. Everytime I read the friendship (book),
I recall about good moments I had with my friends.
And I am so happy while thinking about them.

A schizophrenic patient told me that
"
if you think it's a good thing, it will be a good thing.
And if you think it's a bad thing, I will be a bad thing.
"
WOW I was so impressed about that.

What you are feeling or thinking
depends on how you are perceiving.

Thus, how to appreciate your life may base on
how you perceive it.

I know there are a bunch of things that you don't like in your life.
Is there any things that you like?
Any things?

Let's find good things that happen in your life, good moments, good feelings, or good ideas of yours or others.
(Don't write bad things, I know all of you have them.)

Let's compare what you got yesterday and what you get today.
Let's find good things everyday, and compare them in each day.
Where are they from? From which activities?
What did you do so you had that kinds of feelings?
Introspectively !
And you may know how to appreciate your life, by yourself.
