| The War Is Over For more than twenty years the war`s been over, In all that time, he`s tried hard to forget. The sounds and the mem`ries, they still haunt him. The war`s over, but he`s not over it. He`s not proud of everything that happened, But all in all, he`s proud of what he did. He`d go back again, and does in mem`ry. The war`s over, but he`s not over it. It`s not over, when he still hears the thunder. And a light`ning flash can stir up those old fears. Tears will fall for those who never made it. The war is over, but now it`s over here. For more than twenty years, the war`s been over, And the reason for it all is still not clear. The scars, and the wounds, they still linger.
