Stephanie (hostess) stood next to a large box, with one hand on it, looking at the survivors. "Today, both of you will be receiving an Alpaca. They are loud, smell bad, and overall, are horrible to deal with," she explained. "And you will be caring for one for the next 24 hours. You must feed it every fifteen minutes. (In the actual game it was an hour). The first team to miss that, will lose the challenge," she concluded. "So take the Alpaca, and get going." -- Pueco: Day 4 "Just so everyone knows, Stephanie was exactly right about these things. They are loud, they bite, and they smell worse than we do," Adam explained. Luke was aware of his precarious position in the tribe and was certain to stay up all night feeding the Alpaca to make sure everyone knew it was he who won this challenge for the team. -- Auca Pan: Day 4/5 As night fell on Auca Pan, the feeding went steady and everyone seemed quiet, except for the acadias which filled the night with their songs. It honestly wasn't a big deal to feed the Alpaca before midnight, while everyone was still up, sitting around the fire. After, however, a few went to bed, leaving it up to a select few. Hadley had went to bed around eleven, and woke up at about four the next morning, a few minutes before dawn. She found everyone else in bed, and wasn't sure about the last time they fed the Alpaca. She went to the pen, and went back to the others, trying to stir Marie, to ask if she could feed it. Marie never responded, so Hadley assumed it had been fed. About ten minutes later, Travis stirred and asked Hadley if she had fed it. She explained she hadn't and thought Marie had before she went to bed. Travis woke Marie and asked her, and she replied no. She quickly got up and went to Hadley asking her why she never fed the alpaca. "You never responded to me!" Hadley agitatedly responded. "Oh come on Hadley," Travis said, "if you wanted to help, why didn't you just feed the chicken?" "Oh screw it, this isn't worth my time," Hadley finished, walking off. Josie had woken, and commented on the situation. "Well, obviously we've now lost because of her. She was on our team too..." "Well, let's just eat the alpaca now," Travis joked. -- At Peuco, Luke had stayed up all night feeding the Alpaca and everyone cheered, thanked Luke, and celebrated on their win. They had won fishing supplies, which would now drastically help them in their attempts at harvesting fish from Nahuel Huapi. The win however, did not stop the Peuco machine from doing daily tasks. Nichole and Luke found time to talk alone. After Dave had turned down Nichole's alliance offer both of them considered replacing David with Adam in their alliance. Still, Adam's threat-like nature and lack of getting to know anyone kept them from making any definate plans. Nichole ended their conversation with a quip. "I love being in control." David found Nichole and they commented on the possibility of tribal council, and how good it may be for their tribe. David explained he would be going "lax" on the challenge, and was 90% sure that Valerie would get his vote as they were just carrying her. Nichole wasn't okay with throwing a challenge, explaining, if they could win with her there than there was no real big deal with losing. -- Back at Auca Pan, Marie felt it necessary to confront Hadley about what had happened earlier that morning. "I don't think it was just me, Hadley, you were really rude and bit--- this morning," Marie said, taking a seat on the beach. Hadley stared at her. "If you wanted me to take over, you should have TOLD me. I just assumed you would have had one of your little friends to do it for you," she responded, her arms folded over her chest. "You know, they are your friends too. You are on this tribe too!" Marie spat back in anger. "I truy have not felt like my help is needed, or wanted in this game," Hadley said, turned around and walking off again. The frustrated Marie turned to the camera and gave a confessional. "Maybe she is right. We didn't need her help up until now. But was it not wanted? Of course not. We LOVE inactive people," she said, in a sarcastic voice. "Honestly, this is a good thing. The whole F----- alpaca episode will give me a reason to vote her out. Couldn't you have just feed the stupid alpaca? God, I need soup." Back at camp, John and Jacob were talking about the day, and the Hadley incident. Both agreed, after talking with Marie, that Hadley's actions were ridiculous. Hadley was walking in Argentina with no one watching her step. Josie wasn't happy either. She felt much like Hadley did, however, she was extremely upset about the way she had gone about things. Josie felt she was on an extremely weak tribe, and didn't know how much longer they would be able to survive out here. All she could focus on however, was the upcoming challenge. -- Back at Peuco, Andrew was feeling the sting of possible votes. After asking Dave if he was in danger, and getting the response that he may get a vote, he knew one vote could easily multiply into enough to leave the game. The challenge to him, was imperitive considering he needed more time to prove his strength in the game. He felt the need to tell everyone in camp how active he could be. Both Nichole, Dave, and others got the talk, most of them not paying it much attention, thinking it was Andrew being nervous. Both tribes had been given tree mail explaining to both of them that the upcoming challenge needed a tribal leader. Dave from Peuco and Travis from Auca Pan had been picked. For Dave this was bittersweet. People recognized his strength, but that also made him a target. He had to practice balancing these things. |

Auca Pan: Day 4 The mood around the Auca Pan camp seemed hardly dimmed or changed after Chole's departure. It seemed as if her place in the camp neither affected anything, or changed the layout of the land. For Hadley, the same feelings remained about Marie's behavior in regards to her selective communication. While Hadley remained willing to work, no one asked her for assistance on any of the morning tasks, and the work seemed to center on one group. So, feeling excluded, she decided she wouldn't help. Marie remained completely unaware of Hadley's opinions, and the fact that she got a vote last night. She was rolling with the alliance of John, Jacob, and herself, and felt comfortable doing so. Peuco: Day 4 In the Peuco tribe, the morning of Day four seemed to breed tension. The fog which gathered around the camp, due to the proximity of the lake quickly burned off through the indirect sunlight. Change was stirring, and the change was most noticable with Luke. Luke had remained quiet for the first few days, allowing his body to adjust to Argentinean landscape. He went down to the lake to wash up, and found Nichole doing the same. Luke had noticed Nichole immediately on day one as someone he could possibly align with, and over the past three days, he had dropped subtle hints about it. They began to chat, and both Nichole and Luke felt comfortable teaming up. They also knew, two people were simply not enough in a tribe of eight, and decided to approach people individually. Nichole reminded Luke of Dave's comments as to Luke's activity around camp, and that he needed to do more. After the "alliance summit" both set back off to camp, to begin the gathering of votes. -- Andi had attempted fishing over the past few days, but with their meager supplies, nothing came easily. Back at camp, she found herself busying herself with wood, and found an eager person to help in Luke. After a bit of lax conversation on the weather and tasks, Luke began to talk about the game. "I recognize," he started, "That with my less than good performance at the first two challenges that my head is probably on the chopping block." Andi, not being one to beat around the bush, agreed with him. "Even though you are Luke, there are others who did poorly as well," she explained. "Well, I sorta woke up this morning realizing my position. Do you think people have alliances yet?" he asked. "I don't think so," she responded, but of course wasn't sure. "Well, I'll be honest. I've been considering asking around for one, just to make sure I can stay around and play for a while," Luke admitted. "Maybe...we should look after each other's backs, and maybe two other people?" "That's good with me, I am good at that," she added with a smile. "Great! I am pretty sure I can get Nichole, and convince her that she is number one in my boat. When we hit merge, we can turn on Nichole and whoever she chooses to bring with her," Luke explained his strategy. "That sounds good, almost like you've been planning this since Richard Hatch!" Andi laughed. "Yeah, we're made for alliances Andi, we'll do it," Luke concluded, feeling confident he concreted something with Andi. --- Luke had his eye on the alpha male role in camp, and the one person standing in way, would be David. Earlier he had approached David explaining that he had heard Valerie, Andrew and himself were on the chopping block. His paranoia, he had explained, came from someone telling him that Adam didn't really like him. Luke rambled about his tribemates with David talking about Adam's physical and mental threat potential, Valerie's liability in her weakness, Andrew's poor preformance at the first few challenges but apparent steady position in the tribe, Lisa's quiet un-threatening nature, Nichole's hyper and talkative personality and her push-over quality when it comes to individual challenges, and finally, Andi's mental ability. David was coaxed into giving his opinions on his tribemates as well. Adam is a threat, but he is also a funny guy. Valerie seems like someone who would betray Peuco. Andrew looked like he would be active, but really isn't, but is fun to talk to. Lisa is quiet and nice. Nichole is a great person to chat to, I probably connect most with her. Andi is another nice one, a great mind player. And then you, Luke, seem to have made a 180 turn. -- Luke made one more pit stop before the reward challenge that day. Valerie, who everyone looked to as an easy first vote, since she did little around camp and participated very little in the challenges. He told her the fact that seemed apparent to everyone else. She on the other hand, had no clue that she was being targeted and was surprised people would do that so early in the game. Luke assured her that it would be ok, and together, they could get enough votes to kick Andrew out first, and not her. Calm for a bit, none of them had long to think about it, as they had to leave for the reward challenge soon. -- Before Auca Pan left for reward, Marie took time out to give a little confessional. "Even though I'm aligned with John, I would vote him out before Travis, who I have no connection with. I'm not a backstabber though. I wish now, that we hadn't asked John for an alliance so quickly, but, what can you do?" |
