I'm still Mike, however, and I still have a few other things that have stayed the same. Here's the new and the old, the same and the different...
I still live in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. It's really a beautiful place and all, but it's pretty boring and I need a change. Only a little over a year until I make my great escape. I'm 18 years old, stand at about 5'11", weigh roughly 160 lbs., I'm a white guy, "dirty" blond hair that gets highlighted even MORE blonde everyone now and again, blue eyes, and I play the guitar frikkin' everyday. I have pictures, too. See below for those. I LOVE music, but I am very picky. Now that I play guitar(bass and acoustic) and even fumble on the paino some, I have a new found respect for strong musicianship. It also hardens my head and ears, helping me to filter out stuff like Limp Biskit, who rate a 1.2 on Talent-o-Meter. A band that is pretty much my favorite, and the most influential on my musical outlook is the Dave Matthews Band. Matthews unorthodox acoustic guitar style interested me very much, and taught me to look for unusual riffs and chords. I've seen DMB live four times(Mobile 5.4.99, Dallas 7.22.99, 9.15.00, 9.16.00. Definitely worth seeing if they're in your town, whether you like 'em or not. Most music that would be considered "college circuit" falls into my liking, including Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Bob Marley, Guster, Jimi Hendrix, David Gray, and various others. I'm also a fan of the Stone Temple Pilots, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, BareNaked Ladies, some old school Vertical Horizon, Metallica's old work, Bush, Creed, and Pink Floyd.
soccer, football, and hockey are my major sports. I played football for my high school for a year and a half or so, but I quit to play soccermy sophomore and senior years. As far as school goes, I try pretty hard, because scholarships are the only way I'll get to college(University of Florida), and I can only be an engineer(my goal I guess you could say) if I go to college. I lettered academically all four years of high school. Now, I attend Okaloosa-Walton Community College in pursuit of my A.A. degree. As soon as I have that, I'm transferring to the University of Florida. I had originally planned to enter the engineering field, but my poor outtings in CalculusII have given my confidence quite a shake. I'm beginning to lean towards some kind of business major, and I'll minor in music. In a perfect world, I'll perform music live some day. In a semi-perfect world, I'll work for Dave Matthews at ATO Records. In real life, I'll work at KFC forever.
