Southern Cross Seaplanes is a site dedicated to two things. The laid back lifestyle of Jimmy Buffett and Seaplane Aviation in the Microsoft Flight Simulator world for those of us who would like to experience the thrill of landing in the clear tropical waters off some exotic island in our very own seaplane. Consider this site as your starting point to adventure. If your a Parrothead who is tired of ordinary flight sim planes, then this is the place to change your attitude and maybe your latitude. Virtually, of course. Jimmy Buffett's songs about the Caribbean and other tropical islands are a perfect soundtrack for flight sim seaplaning. Not only is Jimmy a great entertainer, he is also a seaplane pilot himself and has written a book about the adventures of a seaplane pilot in "Where is Joe Merchant?" The aircraft that are available for download here at Southern Cross Seaplanes were inspired by aircraft actually owned by Buffett. |
