11/8/89 Johanneshovs Isstadion: Stockholm, Sweden A soundboard > cdr > dEQ > shn > cdr 2 Great show!
xx/xx/xx n/a A studio > "Hunting Like the Dinosaurs" liberated boot > flac > cdr 1 Demo version of the first ABWH album. Kind of interesting, but I definitely prefer the finished real album to this.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
7/30/03 The Roxy: Atlanta, GA B+ DPA4033 > MP-2 > SBM-1 (Oade Mod) > D100 (balcony, 40' left stage stack) > dat > soundforge > shn > cdr 1 Some shifts during "Weak and Powerless". I think this is the best source.
8/3/03 Berkelee Performing Arts Center: Boston, MA B+/A- Dynamic Audio Binaurals > Sharp MD-MT877 > ? > shn > cdr 1

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
9/10/83 Pine Knob: Detroit, MI B- analog > "Last Original" boot > cdr 1 This is the last show with the original singer, John Wetton. Sound is "okay" with a lot of crowd.
6/4/92 Kouseinenkin, Kaikan: Osaka, Japan B+ AUD > official release "Asia - Live in Osaka" (Blueprint, 1997) > cdr 2 This is the worst sounding "official release" I have ever heard...it is clearing an audience recording.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
7/27/03 Tweeter Center: Lollapalooza: Camden, NJ B DPA4022 > Sonosax SX-M2 > Sony SBM-1 (Oade Mod) > dat-m (Sec 102 Box 19 Seat 3) > dat (D100) > wav > shn > cdr 1 Sound is kind of muddy.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
9/15/03 Cotton Club: Atlanta, GA A-/A AT933s > battbox > M1 > dat-M (@48kHz) (15' left stack) > Tacsam DA-20 > Monster coax > Delta Dio 2496 > CEP 2.1 (resample to 44.1, dEQ) > cdwave > flac > cdr 2 Excellent...Bill introduced me to this band, and they sound fantastic.
9/20/03 The Avalon: Boston, MA A+ Sonic Studios > Sony TCD-D100 (FOS) > dat-M > cdr1 > shn > cdr 2 This recording is freakin' awesome!! A definite must have!

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
7/10/02 Kultkomplex Café: Cologne, Germany A+ FM (WDR Eins Live Radiokonzert) > dat > shn > cdr 1
2/27/03 Oakdale Theater: Wallingford, CT B+ SP-CMC-2 > Sony MZ N505 minidisk > CEP > shn > cdr 2

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
9/11/83 Great Western Forum: Los Angeles, CA A- soundboard (pre-FM?) > analog > "Rock Till You Drop" liberated boot (Crystal Copycat) (silver) > cdr > flac > cdr 2 There is definitely an analog gen in the source. Pretty good show of Def at their peak...a few track transitions aren't seamless but it can be fixed...Brian May of Queen helps out on "Traveling Band". Also has a few tracks from Nassau '92 as filler.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
3/11/02 Paramount Theater: Denver, CO A-/A DAUD > clone of DAT master > shn > "Mile High Turbulence" cdr 3

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
1987 San Francisco/San Diego A+ soundboard > "Dance into the Fire" liberated boot > shn > cdr 1 Has two incomplete shows: San Francisco 7/31/87 and San Diego 1987. These shows were remixed for the video "Working for the Skin Trade". On this boot, the songs are in their original order and the inbetween-song dialog intact.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
6/7/03 Rock Am Ring Festival: Nürburgring-Eifel, Germany A digital TV (WDR Rockpalast) broadcast > dvdr > cdr > shn > cdr 1
8/30/03 Coors Light Mountain Jam: Red Rocks: Morrison, CO A multi-track soundboard > shn > dEdit > cdr 1 This was first spread on sharingthegroove with many problems. Editing was done to fix the issues, and the editor reordered the tracks in the order he believed them to be in (Haunted, Going Under (cuts in), Taking Over, Everybody's Fool, My Last Breath, Bring Me to Life, Tourniquet, Imaginary, Whisper). Amy's voice is great, but the rest of the mix is kind of subdued; this is good but not as great as I thought it would be.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
8/8/84 The Greek Theater: Los Angeles, CA A+ "Wild at the Greek" video (out of print) > shn > cdr 1 They played three dates in a row at the venue (also on the 9th and the 10th), so the date could possibly be one of those two shows instead.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
12/5/92 Estadio Rio Plata: Buenos Aires, Argentina A+ dSBD > "Welcome to the Rumour Jungle" liberated boot > shn > cdr 2 One of the shows after Izzy left. =( This is probably a typical Guns show...Axl threatens to end the show twice and go home. =)

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
10/19/94 Club Metronome: Burlington, VT A soundboard > analog (master) > analog-1 > Nak DR-2 > DA-20 @ 48k > ZA2 > wav > shn > cdr 2 Fantastic! The only defect is you can hear tape hiss during the quiet parts, and there is a tape flip after "I'll Rise".
8/27/00 Bimbo's 365 Club: Youth Speaks Benefit: San Francisco, CA A-/A Schoeps MK4's > R-Mod 2K1 > Sony SBM-1 > Sony M1 > shn > cdr 2 One of several known recordings from this show, this source doesn't have a minidisk in the lineage.
4/11/01 The Independant Theatre: Sydney, Australia A mono soundboard > Real Audio webcast @ 225 kbps > Total Recorder > .wav > CD Wave > cdr 1 This is sourced from the webcast, and is complete. This was a private Ben Harper show (only 200 people attended). Eddie Vedder sings with Ben on "Indifference".

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
10/16/78 Civic Arena: Pittsburgh, PA A-/A FM (WDVE rebroadcast 1978) > analog-1 > shn > cdr 2 Tape flips inbetween "Straight On" and "Magic Man", "Barracuda" and "White Lightning".
8/31/85 Dorton Arena: Raleigh, NC A- FM (KROCK broadcast) > analog > shn > cdr 2 Some tape hiss and some other minor problems but pretty nice.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
xx/xx/xx various A-/A ? > "Strangers on 52nd Street" liberated boot > shn > cdr 1 Includes studio demos and outtakes for both "The Stranger" and "52nd Street" albums. Also has part of a FM broadcast from a concert in New York on 6/6/76.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
12/22/73 Hammersmith Odeon: London, England A soundboard > FM (BBC Radio) > "Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer" liberated boot > shn > cdr 2
5/29/79 Rossya Hall: Moscow, Russia A+ soundboard > FM (BBC Radio 1) > "Russian Bullet" liberated boot > shn > cdr 2 One of the few shows that Elton did not play with a band, just him with Ray Cooper.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
4/27/69 Fillmore West: San Francisco, CA A- 2-source mix: sndbd Master > dat + Aud 2nd gen > dat > cdr > shn > cdr 2 Incredible!
8/31/69 Motor Speedway: Texas International Pop Festival: Dallas, Texas A soundboard > unknown liberated boot > cdr 1 Incredible! Almost totally complete...longer than the "Plays Pure Blues" boot. Vocals are mostly contained in the left channel. There is a complete version that exists that has some cuts patched with an analog source.
5/24/75 Earl's Court: London, UK A soundboard > ? > shn > cdr 4 Seeded by AlmightyZeppelin on sharingthegroove.
4/27/77 Richfield Coliseum: Cleveland, OH A soundboard > "Destroyer – Final Edition" (Cobla Standard Series) vinyl boot > cdr 3 More complete and has better sound than other "Destroyer" releases. There are some pops from the vinyl here and there...but not bad at all, and the beginning of the "The Song Remains the Same" is cut.
6/21/77 The Forum: Inglewood, CA B+ "Listen to This, Eddie" (Silver Rarities) boot > cdr 3 Pretty cool show, but it does have some problems: cut inbetween "Since I've Been Loving You" and "No Quarter", some pops @4:19 of "No Quarter", and another very small cut @6:58 of "No Quarter". All these problems supposedly exist on the master.
6/23/77 The Forum: Inglewood, CA B+/A- combination of best gens available of Goldberg, Millard, and Badgeholder LP sources > cdr > shn > cdr 3 Some tape hiss...classic performance.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
10/12/94 Crocodile Cafe: Seattle WA B+/A- Sonic Studios > unknown dat > "Seasons of Myst" boot > cdr 1 Absolutely stunning. Last two songs from the "Self Pollution Radio" gig.
11/06/94 Crocodile Cafe: Seattle WA B- unknown audience > ? > cdr 1 Performed as "The Gacy Bunch". Has tape hiss, and the audience in the small club is chatty. It is possible this source is incomplete, but this is the only source recorded. Spectrum looks suspicious.
11/20/94 Crocodile Cafe: Seattle, WA B Sonic Studios > Sony TCD-D8 > dat > cdr 1 Cut inbetween the songs "November Hotel" and "Lifeless Dead" (sounds like it is from the master where taper paused). Some ticks present between tracks which could be edited out.
12/31/94 RKCNDY: Seattle, WA B unknown microphone > unknown dat > dat > cdr 1 Some dropouts and ticks which probably can be fixed.
1/8/95 Self Pollution Radio: Seattle, WA A+ "Self Pollution" boot (silver) 1 With Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Mad Season sets only.
1/8/95 Self Pollution Radio: Seattle, WA A+ pre-FM > cdr 4 Complete broadcast. For information, please click here.
3/5/95 BBC Radio One B FM > analog (unknown gen) > cdr 1 30 minute long interview with Mike and Baker which is pretty interesting. Pretty significant amount of tape hiss.
4/22/95 Crocodile Cafe: Seattle, WA B Sonic Studios > Sony TCD-D8 > dat > cdr 1 Cut inbetween the songs "River of Deceit" and "November Hotel", sounds like it is on the master. Some ticks which could be edited.
4/29/95 Moore Theater: Seattle, WA A Source 1: "Live at the Moore" VHS > cdr 1 Being sourced from the video, this is not complete and some of the tracks are out of order. Tracks are not seamless, and there is a cut @ 0:43 of "X-Ray Mind" and a cut inbetween "X-Ray Mind" and "All Alone".
4/29/95 Moore Theater: Seattle, WA B+ Source 2: Sonic Studios (DSM6) > Sony TCD-D8 > cdr 1 Sound obviously isn't as great as the video source, but this is complete and in the proper order. The spectrum looks like this is a mp3, looking for non-mp3 source.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
3/8/95 Paramount Theater: Denver, CO A pre-FM > dat (@ 48kHz) > shn > cdr 2 Complete (83:07), not sourced from a bootleg. A strange sound is @1:51 on T1 (on master).

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
2/13/87 Frolundaborg: Gothenburg, Sweden A+ soundboard > "Tower of Strength" liberated boot > shn > cdr 1 Last show on the "Master of Puppets" tour. Incomplete.
2/3/89 Frank Erwin Center: Austin, TX A-/A soundboard > ? > "Texas '89" liberated boot > shn > cdr 2 Has some filler that is from New Orleans 1/18/92. Just a touch of tape hiss which is a tip to an analog source, and the first half of "Blackened" is cut and distorted at the beginning (definitely sounds like it on the master).

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
11/8/89 Rose Club: Koln, Germany A-/A Vivanco EM-160 > Sony TCD-D6 > analog (master) > cdr(3) 1 Complete!
10/31/91 Paramount Theatre: Seattle, WA A SBD > ?? > dEQ > cdr 1 Remastered by Mike Wilkinson. Really great show and recording...includes the rarity "Endless, Nameless".
10/31/93 James A. Rhodes Arena: Akron University: Akron, OH B+ ANA(M) > digitized to PC > CDR master burned > shn > cdr 2 Supposely better than other circulating sources for this show. There is a cut (supposedly on master) inbetween "Lithium" and "Pennyroyal Tea" (sounds like a tape flip), and another cut @ 0:15 on "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam".
11/27/93 AT&T Bayfront Amphitheater: Miami, FL A Sonic Studios DSM-6 > Denon DTR-80P > DAT(M) [48kHz] (recorded 20' from left stack) > WAV [Resampled to 44.1kHz] > SHN > CDR 2 Best source for this show, really cool stuff.
12/13/93 Pier 48: Seattle, WA A+ TV > vid(1) > cdr(3) > shn > cdr 2 Excellent, but incomplete (only 30 minutes long).
12/31/93 Oakland Coliseum Arena: Oakland, CA A- 2-source mix: [Nakamichi CM300s > Sony TCD-D7 (KS remaster) > dat(4) > cdr(4) > dEdit > dEQ] + [Core Sounds > Sony TCD-D7 > dat(2) > cdr(5) > dEdit] > cdr 2 Mix done by Bill Graham!

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
7/14/98 Great Woods Amphitheater: Mansfield, MA A+ ALD (mono soundboard) > shn > cdr 2

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
2/28/70 Refectory Hall: Leeds University: Leeds, England B+ "Six of One" Harvested CDR030 2 Extremely trippy set, with some tape hiss present.
10/26/70 Electric Factory: Philadelphia, PA A- "Electric Factory" Harvested CDR015 2
6/5/71 Berliner Sportpalast: West Berlin, Germany B+ "Vierundzwanzig Teile von Nichts" Harvested CDR029 2 Has "The Return of the Sun of Nothing" which is basically an early version of "Echoes" with modified lyrics.
10/4-7/71 Roman Amphiteatre: Pompeii, Italy A+ "Pompeii" boot (Baby Capone) > cdr 2 It is the (almost) complete Pompeii film, including the studio outtakes and even the interviews, only missing "On the Run". The sound is fantastic.
4/28/72 Auditorium Theater: Chicago, IL A "Eclipse: A Piece for Assorted Lunatics" Harvested CDR004 1 I am looking for the second cd for this show (which Harvested added later).
10/22/72 Hollywood Bowl: Los Angeles, CA A- "Bowl de Luna" Harvested CDR012 2 Great sound, but there are dropouts in the left channel that probably could be fixed to improve this considerably.
12/9/72 Cleveland Municipal Stadium: Cleveland, OH B+/A- analog > dEdit > dEQ ("Man of Leisure Music Remaster") > shn > cdr 2 Analog source has been remastered and speed corrected by Danalog...great show. Includes the rarity "Childhood's End", some quiet parts the tape hiss is somewhat noticeable but on the whole this is a great recording.
4/8/75 PNE Exhibition Park: Vancouver, Canada B ? > "The Azimuth Coordinator (part I)" boot > flac > cdr 2 A fair amount of hiss and a few other minor problems. The first date of the 1975 tour.
6/18/75 Boston Garden: Boston, MA A Master Reel > dat > cdr > shn > cdr 2 Sound is fantastic, with rare performances of "Raving and Drooling" and "You've Gotta Be Crazy" (pre-"Animals").
6/28/75 Ivor Wynne Stadium: Hamilton, Ontario A "Steel Breeze" Harvested CDR013 2 Incredible, with rare performances of "Raving and Drooling" and "You've Gotta Be Crazy" (pre-"Animals").
5/9/77 Boston Garden: Boston, MA A- ECM280 > TC-158 Cass-M > Reel > dat > cdr > shn > cdr 2 Some recording problems on master. The show is pretty much "Animals" and "Wish You Were Here" in their entirety. Also I think the last time they played "Careful with that Axe, Eugene."
6/25/77 Cleveland Municipal Stadium: Cleveland, OH B- analog > dEQ ("Man of Leisure Music Remaster") > shn > cdr 2 The performance from this show is incredible. "Dogs" seems like it lasts forever. However, this is obviously sourced from an analog source with the quality lacking. There are also cuts inbetween many songs, presumably on the master.
7/6/77 Stade du Parc Olympique: Montreal, Quebec B- ? > "The Azimuth Coordinator (part II)" boot > flac > cdr 2 "Drift-Away Blues" wouldn't fit onto these discs and is stuck at the end of "The Azimuth Coordinator (part III)" (2/7/80). The Looking for the "Who Was Trained Not To Spit On The Fan?" Harvested release, which is supposed to sound better than this.
2/7/80 Sports Arena: Los Angeles, CA B- ? > "The Azimuth Coordinator (part III)" boot > flac > cdr 2 The first show of "The Wall" tour, and the performance sounds kind of unpolished. Good bit of audience.
xx/xx/xx various A-/B+ "Antiques and Curios" cdr 1 Awesome collection of rare live stuff.
xx/xx/xx various A- "BBC Archives 1967-1969" Harvested CDR008 1 Collects BBC performances on 9/25/67, 12/20/67, 6/25/68, 12/2/68, and 5/12/69.
xx/xx/xx various A "BBC Archives 1970-1971" Harvested CDR007 2 Collects BBC performances on 7/16/70 and 9/31/71. Fantastic! This is the "definitive editions" of these performances.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
4/28/80 City Hall: Newcastle, England A+ soundboard > "Crimewatch" liberated boot > shn > cdr 1 I am not sure, but I don't think this is the complete show (but it could be I guess).
7/31/82 International Stadium: Gateshead, England A+ soundboard > shn > cdr 2 "Ghost in the Machine" tour.
8/2/83 Le Spectrum: Montreal, Quebec, Canada A+ soundboard > "Many Miles Away" liberated boot (Swinging Pig) > shn > cdr 1 Fantastic, but this is not complete (this supposedly was originally from a TV show that didn't air the complete performance), and there is a cut @ 2:35 on T1, some skips @ 2:20-2:22 on T10, which I think is a result of a bad burn.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
6/2/02 9:30 Club: Washington, DC A B&K DPA4011's > Lunatec V-2 pre-amp > Sonic AD2K+ a/d converter > Tascam DA-P1 > dat > cdr 2 One of the classic shows with Dave Grohl. Tracks 4-9 are filler tracks from Melkweg: Amsterdam, Holland 6/24/02 (source: soundboard > FM (KRO 'Leidsekade Live') > dat-master > dEQ > dEdit > cdr)
10/5/02 Fillmore: San Francisco, CA A- Schoeps > unknown pre-amp > Sony SBM-1 > Sony PCM-M1 > dat > cdr 2
10/8/02 Crystal Ballroom: Portland, OR A- MBHO 603A+KA500HNS (XY, 90 degrees) > Denecke PS-2 > Denecke AD-20 > Sony PCM-M1 > Tascam DA-20 MK II > shn > cdr 2

11/29/90 Edenhall: Amsterdam, The Netherlands A- "Anarchy-X" liberated boot > shn > cdr 1 Dropout @ 4:10 on "Suite Sister Mary".

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
10/11/00 Roseland Ballroom: New York, NY aud > cdr 2
6/18/01 Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion: Houston, TX Optimus Condensers (ORTF)(AB stereo) > Sony TCD-D8 (@44.1kHz, manual levels) (12th row, 3 seats left of center) > shn > cdr 2
6/23/01 Gorge Ampitheatre: George, Washington A+ 2 source mix: [IEM? > dat? > cdr] + [Neumann AK40s > LC3's > KM100s > MP-2 > Sony SBM-1 > M1 > dat > cdr] > shn > cdr 2 A fantastic sounding show by BG~! The [Nak 300s > D8] source was mixed in for approx. the first 6 minutes. The webcast source was used to patch flaws in the IEM during "Morning Bell" and "Street Spirit".
7/7/01 South Park, Headington: Oxford, UK A+ pre-FM Westwood One "Absolutely Live in the Zone" #01-38 > shn > cdr 1 Not complete by far and in the wrong order, but it sounds great!
7/30/01 Stone Moutain: Atlanta, GA B+ DPA 4061s > DPA power supply > Sony PCM-M1 (master) > dEdit > cdr 2 Taped 20' from the left stack. Yippeee!!! I was there (thanks Dave!).
8/14/01 Suffolk Downs: Boston, MA A+ DAUD/FOB Schoeps MK-4 (ORTF) > KC-5 Actives > Schoeps CMC6 > Sonosax SX-M2(+30db) > Sony SBM-1(Oade Mod.) > Sony TCD-D7(@44.1kHz) (on 7' micstand just right of the soundboard) > cdr 2 Received Dankseed Certification on 10/22/01. So so nice (thanks so much to Bill for giving this to me).
8/6/02 Palacio de Congresos: Salamanca, Spain B+/A- DPA 4061s > Sony TCD-D8 > dat > cdr > shn > cdr 2 Some talking and clapping, but not too bad.
6/7/03 Field Day Festival: Giants Stadium: East Rutherford, NJ A- Schoeps CCM4s > Sound Devices MP-2 > Sony PCM-M1 (@48k) > dat-master (~100' from stage, DFC) > dEdit (downsampled and channels swapped) > shn > cdr 2

6/14/92 Maple Leaf Gardens: Charlotte, NC A- Audio Technica 831B Lavaliere > Sony TCD-D3 > dEQ > "Charlotte Fever Platinum Edition" cdr > cdr 2 A great show, one of the ones on the latter part of the tour where the setlist was changed. There is also a soundboard circulating for this show, but it is not complete. I was in attendance! Yee ha!
5/7/94 Maple Leaf Gardens: Toronto, Canada A+ soundboard (mono) > "Animated" liberated boot > cdr 2 One of the few shows with "Bravado" (one of my favorite Rush songs). This recording was supposedly stolen from the band, and the boot is missing the encore ("YYZ" and "Force Ten").

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
11/12/02 Historic State Theater: Minneapolis, MN A+ DAB > DA-120S > MD-722 (7th row in right section) > Sony MXD-D400 > Delta Dio 2496 > CEP > shn > cdr 2 I love this recording...there is some slight crackling during Samskeyti which was a technical issue at the show, but other than that, this is perfect.
2/12/03 Hammersmith Apollo: London, England A+ Core Sound Binaurals > Sony TCD-D8 (mic lo) (Block 22, Row C, Seat 29, Stage Right) > dat > soundforge > shn > cdr 2 Fantastic!!

10/19/01 Experience Music Project's Sky Church: Seattle, WA (Groundwork Benefit) A Webcast (mono SBD) @ 300 kbps > flac > cdr 1 Really nice!

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
7/22/92 Kitsap County Fairgrounds (Lollapalooza): Bremerton, WA A SBD > pro-shot vid > "Brenton '92" liberated boot > cdr(2) > shn > cdr 1 Complete...there is a dropout @ 2:40 of "Gun". This is mislabeled sometimes as being on 7/13/92, the date of 7/22/92 is correct. Eddie Vedder sings backup on "Outshined".
xx/xx/xx n/a A/A+ "Digging the Garden of Sound" liberated boot > flac > cdr 1 Collection of demos, outtakes, b-sides, and live songs. A couple of songs are cut at the end ("Thank You", "Everybody's Got Something to Hide (But Me and My Monkey)", and generally the way the songs are patched together is kind of annoying, but still a great collection of the rare SG material.
xx/xx/xx n/a A+ "Stolen Prayers" liberated boot > flac > cdr 1 Collection of Chris Cornell demos. Also has demos from "Ava Maria" and "Sunshower" tacked onto the end, which are mp3 compressed.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
9/25/02 United Center: Chicago, IL B+ Sonic Studios DSM6/L > Mod-2 > Sony TCD-D100 > U24 Waveterminal > shn > cdr 3 Eddie Vedder sings with the Boss on "My Hometown". The board soundman needed to turn up the vocals, but didn't do so until "Waitin On A Sunny Day", so sound improves a little after that.
xx/xx/xx n/a A "Santa Boss is Coming to Town" cdr > shn > cdr 1 A compilation of Bruce doing Christmas songs performed live.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
9/12/83 Satory Saal, Köln (Cologne), Germany B+/A- ? > analog > shn > "Live Satory Saal" cdr 1 Fair amount of tape hiss present. Also has some b-sides as filler.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
10/06/01 Verizon Wireless Amphitheater: Charlotte, NC A- Neumann AK40s > Neumann LC-3 active cables > Neumann KM 100s > Audio Magic X-Stream XLR's > Sonosax SX-M2 > Sony TCD-D100 (Sec 1, Row M, Seat 12, 10 ft. left of left stage stack) > cdr 2 If this was edited and remastered, this would probably be a classic recording. The show I wanted to go to, but couldn't (my daughter was born the week before).
7/12/02 Coliseum Arena: Oakland, CA A- HEB > Zefiro > Sony TCD-D8 > shn > cdr 2
10/18/02 Wings Stadium: Kalamazoo, MI B+ Core Sound Binaurals > Sony PCM-M1 (front row first section left side facing stage) > shn > cdr 2
11/24/02 Long Beach Arena: Long Beach, CA B/B+ Sony ECM-MS908c (FOB/DFC) > Sony MZ-R700 > dEdit > shn > cdr 2

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
5/18/82 The Budokan: Tokyo, Japan A-/A soundboard > "Runaway" liberated boot (Midas Touch) > flac > cdr 1 Vocals are almost horribly out of tune on songs like "Rosanna" and "Africa", but other than that it is a pretty good show.

Date Location Quality Source Info Discs Notes:
2/11/82 SS President Riverboat: New Orleans, LA B+/A- soundboard > "Riverboat President" boot > cdr 1 One of the extra 2 filler songs that are normally found on this is not here ("A Celebration"), but not that big of a deal since it was filler anyway. Fantastic sound for such an early performance, with a few places with talking, some bumps during "Gloria", and a cut inbetween "I Will Follow" and "Twilight", all on the master.
4/4/87 Arizona State University Activity Center: Tempe, AZ B+/A- aud > "Governor Mecham & MLK" liberated boot (silver) > shn > cdr 2
4/29/87 Rosemont Horizon: Chicago, IL A+ aud > "Rock's Hottest Ticket" liberated boot > cdr 2 Really great sounding audience recording, probably my favorite U2 show.
11/7/87 The Point Depot: Dublin, Ireland A soundboard > "Mountains and Deserts" boot > cdr 2 Really great sounding soundboard, with some cuts (0:07 on "Gloria" and inbetween "New Year's Day" and "Pride"), and some ticks inbetween tracks. All of these flaws supposedly exist on all copies. Click here for more info.
12/27/89 The Point Depot: Dublin, Ireland A soundboard > "December XXVII" boot > cdr 2 Awesome, with guest appearances by B.B. King and Maria McKee.
12/31/89 The Point Depot: Dublin, Ireland A FM > "Happy New Year" liberated boot > cdr 2 Very good show, arguably one of their best from this time period.
8/28/93 R.D.S. Social Grounds: Dublin, Ireland A+ soundboard > pre-FM > "Zoo Europa" KTS liberated boot > shn > cdr 2 Last show of the Zoo Station tour. Lou Reed sings a little on "Satellite of Love". The artwork claims it is "recorded live from the mixing desk", but I looked at the spectrum on this, and it is not unfiltered soundboard...it cuts out at 16K, so I am guessing it a pre-FM source. It is most likely the best source.
4/28/97 Jack Murphy Stadium: San Diego, CA B Sony ECM-919 > Sony TCD-D8 > dat-1 > cdr (3) > shn > cdr 2 I am fairly positive this has been mp3 compressed. Not that interested in a replacement, this is definitely the worst U2 show I have personally heard...Bono's voice sounds weak.
9/30/97 Ramat Gan Stadium: Tel Aviv, Israel A-/A 'TelAviv'-recording found on various DC++ hub's (seek TelAviv.txt) > shn > .wav > dEQ/dMix/dEdit CoolEdit Pro 2.0 > shn > cdr 2 The show sounds great, but I really question the mixing process and the source information is totally screwy. I think I am not positive, but MOFO sounds like it was taken from the single, and I think one of the sources used was mp3 compressed. I think the main source used was either a FM or an IED source.
3/29/01 Charlotte Coliseum: Charlotte, NC A- Neumann KM-140 > Sonosax SX-M2 > Sony TCD-D100 (5th row right, sec 129) > cdr 2 I was there! Excellent recording, just a little too much audience at times.
5/1/01 Target Center: Minneapolis, MN B+ Shure Beta98 mics with RPM108 Cardioid capsules > Sound Devices MP2 stereo mic pre-amplifier > Sony PCM-M1 (front of board, dead center, 10' back with top of the heart walkway) > cdr > shn > cdr 2 Not too exciting...I wish U2 would shake up their setlists more.
6/5-6/01 Fleet Center: Boston, MA A soundboard > "U2 - Elevation Tour 2001 - Live from Boston" dvd > cdr 2 Converted this from dvd to cdr myself.
xx/xx/xx various A-B "Covering 'Em" boot > cdr 1 A collection of covers and duets over the years. Track 20 "She's a Mystery to Me" appears to be missing, but is on the label (is this a common problem?).
xx/xx/xx various A-B+ "Duets" boot > cdr 1 A collection of duets over the years.
xx/xx/xx various A Salome - The [Axtung Beibi] Outtakes" liberated boot > shn> cdr 3 Excellent collection of outtakes and unreleased songs and song ideas (that were supposedly stolen from the band)....there is also a bigger set circulating, but this has the best of the sessions.
xx/xx/xx various A+ "The Ultimate 7" & 12" Collection" boot > cdr 1 B-sides from the years 1979-1987.
xx/xx/xx various A+ "The Ultimate 7" & 12" Collection Part II" boot > cdr 1 B-sides from the years 1987-1992.
xx/xx/xx various A+ "The Unreleased Album" boot > cdr 1 The best of the stolen "Achtung Baby" sessions. Really good!

9/29/69 Concertgebouw: Amsterdam, Holland A soundboard > ? > boot CD > cdr > dEdit > cdr 2 Setlist is here. Fantastic sound...Editing (not done by me) involved fixing track transitions, retracking, and correcting some nasty tape hiss. There is still some places with static (especially during "Overture") but does not detract from the show.
10/22/69 The Fillmore East: New York A-/A "Accept No Substitute" (Big O11) liberated boot > dEdit ("corrected speed version") > cdr > shn > cdr 1 Note that the cover art made for this has an incorrect date and venue...the correct info is listed above. Really good sounding recording.
2/14/70 University Refectory: Leeds University: Leeds, UK B+ soundboard > "Live at Leeds Complete" (Midas Touch) boot > cdr 2 Reissue of the legendary concert, including the complete performance of "Tommy". Most people think this is better than the remix that was officially released. My copy has some static throughout (which is very annoying to me), that I understand at least some is from the master.
6/12/76 Vetch Field: Swansea, Wales soundboard > "Who Put A Better Boot In 1976" (Shagadellic Productions) boot > cdr 1 Includes "My Wife" and "Squeezebox" is not cut (unlike other boots available).
3/28/81 Grughalle: Essen, West Germany A soundboard > FM > reel master > dat > cdr > shn > cdr 2 There is a cut inbetween "Won't Get Fooled Again" and "Summertime Blues"...can't determine how long.
7/18/96 Madison Square Garden: New York, NY B+ soundboard > FM > dat > "Quadrophenia World Tour" boot > cdr 2 One of the shows where Quadrophenia was played in its entirety. Includes "Naked Eye". A good bit of audience for a soundboard FM recording, cut @ very beginning (fades in), and a touch of static on D2:T8 @ 8:18. Includes some Pete Townshend demos filler.
11/12/99 House of Blues: Chicago, IL A soundboard? > German boot > cdr 2 Tiny glitch @ 0:29 of track 7 on master.
11/13/99 House of Blues: Chicago, IL A- Nakamichi 700 > Sony TCD-D7 > dat(master) > cdr 2
08/24/00 The Pepsi Center: Denver, CO A Core Sound Binaurals > Sony SBM-1 > Sony TCD-D8 > cdr 2
11/27/00 Royal Albert Hall: London, England A- Shure Beta98 > Beyer MV-100 > Sony PCM-M1 > cdr 3 The Who with some guests. Taper makes adjustments @ very beginning.
08/24/02 Tweeter Center: Tinley Park, IL A+ soundboard > "The Who Encore Series" cd > cdr 2 The Who with some guests. Taper makes adjustments @ very beginning.
xx/xx/xx n/a A+ "The Collector's Who's Next" (Tendollar) boot > cdr 1 Supposedly a "true stereo version" of Who's Next with some demos and filler, it is actually a dub of the German Polydor CD release.

07/19/00 PNC Bank Arts Center: Holmdel, NJ A soundboard > FM > cdr 2 Masterworks show. This has great sound, but three tracks have extremely mild static on them, maybe from being transferred from FM. Looking for fault-free "Real Masterworks" soundboard source (that was sent out to music stations).
