Dear Journal,
HEY!!!!
Well, other than having a sore throat & some breathing issues.... Today's been GREAT!
Where to start?
Amy & I talked to Mama Ureo earlier about school. We found out that Monday is some holiday here & the kids will be in a parade so we can't start then... pero we can start Tues & we will. Losing a day's not cool.. pero it's doable. We also found out that there'll be 150 students. Which means 50 kids in a class!!!! Scary huh?
Then... I went to Maldina's shop (at least I think that'sthe name.. .I keep wanting to callit Medina's instead & I know that's not right!) to look at the abaya's (or as the owner calls them, chador's)I ended up w/ another gold trimmed one becuasethe pretty silver one I saw before wasn't in my size! It's ok though becuase it's very pretty. I like it anyway. The funny thing is that I've seen it (the same exact one) online for like $50 & I paid nowhere near that here....
Tomarrow Amy & I are going to get stone's set at Mohammed's... I have an amethyst (a really bad one lol) that I got in like the third grade or so at a gunshow that I'd like to set in a ring. It might be bad pero it is pretty.
The best part of today though? That was tonite....
There was some kind of conference thing here at the hostel.. It was filled w/ Maasai Lutherine's. We gathered together w/ them tonite in a huge circle & sang. THey'd sing a song in Kimaasai (then translate it for us) & then we'd sing in English (& then explain as best we could the meaning). All religious song's of course. It was awesome. My fav was when they sang this one song that they jumped up & started dancing too (which happenes alot) that had something to do w/ old women & traveling... it was kinda hard to understand their translations, pero they were great. I loved it.
On that happy note: I'mgoing to end for today! Bye!
