From Nadine Niguidula ...

Thank you for all the prayers, love and support that were extended to me, my brother Bernie and the Niguidula family during our most trying moments.  MIRACLE is what can best describe my brother's condition.

After almost three months, I am still in San Francisco caring for and managing the affairs of my brother.  It’s actually quite a complicated situation.  Bernie is still in the hospital for rehab and therapy (physical, speech, occupational).  It is still a long way to go;  he still needs to undergo another surgery for the bone flap to be put back on.  (Bernie had aneurysm in the brain.  If you wish to know more, click the link below for a detailed account; it’s quite lengthy though…)

It’s just too bad I am unable to go to Manila to continue to prepare for and attend the much-awaited 2004 Homecoming this weekend.  When I spoke to Girlie Garcia just a few days after I arrived and I requested her to take over my responsibilities which she gladly accepted, she told me “Nadine naman, between the homecoming and your brother, hindi na pinag-iisipan yan…”  I knew then, I made the right decision to come here and be by my brother’s side.

I continue to pray for the homecoming’s success and I’m confident that with exceptional efforts put in by the organizing committee, members of Batch 79, the other jubilarians and Paulinians, the alumnae board and Veronica,  and the support from the school president Sr. Suzette and other nuns, teachers and staff, the homecoming will be a fantastic event that will remain in the hearts of Paulinians.  I’m sure it will go down the history of our alma mater as one of the most memorable homecomings (self-affirmation na lang yan para sa ating lahat…).

To those in the Bay Area, I know how busy you all are but if there are any plans of getting together, count me in please!  I do need a break…Help!!!

All the best and all my love to give,

Nadine

PS.  Bernie is also a Paulinian.  He graduated Kindergarten from St. Paul College Paranaque in 1971.
