Welcome to NSSLHA's homepage! All of the fundraising efforts that we do as a NSSLHA group is to raise money for the Children's Hearing Aid Fund through the OSU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic in Pressey Hall. Check out our fundraisers and Speech and Hearing news in the Columbus community. If you miss a meeting, no problem. We keep our minutes posted so you can see what took place. Also if you cannot make it to our meetings at 7:30 feel free to e-mail an officer to give them your membership form and the dues of $5!! Now that a new year has started I also put up a link to view last years minutes if you are interested. We are enthusiastic about answering your questions about the NSSLHA chapter at OSU so feel free to contact any of us (e-mails below). I have also added links to see what some of our upcoming conferences and meetings. There is also a link about the National Chapter of NSSLHA and a few other organizations that are very interesting. So please take a look around and let us know if there are any questions!!! *** NSSLHA is happy to announce that for the 2007-2008 year we have raised ~$1128.00! Lets raise that much and more this year!! Best Buddies is a campus club that creates friendships between college students and individuals in the area with developmental disabilities. Contact Megan Strahler at strahler.10@osu.edu for more information about the group or fundraisers. Operation Smile is another group on the Ohio State Campus that has joined with NSSHLA in a part. Operation Smile raises money donate to third world countries for facial deformity surgeries. If you're interested or would like more information contact Jennifer Barkimer (president of Operation Smile) at barkimer.3@osu.edu *** OSLHA (Ohio Speech Language Hearing Association) is a great opportunity for students to get involved in the communication field. By joining OSLHA students have an advantage in the speech and hearing community. You can be paired with a mentor in the field of their choice, earn scholarships and awards, help build your resume, be aware of legislative topics our fields are be addressed with, search for job openings, earn discounted credit for the annual convention and even obtain professional liability insurance.
