WHO IS DARTH VADER?

Anakin Skywalker was born to Shmi Skywalker on Tatooine.  He was conceived by the force.  Anakin and Shmi were slaves to Gardulla the Hutt before she lost the slaves betting on pod races.  The two were then owned by Watto, a Toydarian who owned a junk shop.  Watto made Anakin work in his shop, and forced the young child race to in his pods.  Anakin was not successful.  One day while cleaning the shop, a group of visitors from Naboo came to the junk shop looking for parts to their starship.  The visitors included, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, who sensed the force in Anakin.  Another visitor was Padme Amidala, then Queen of Naboo.  Watto and Qui-Gon made a deal.  If Anakin won the Boonta Eve race the next day, Watto would give him the parts he needed for the starship.  If Anakin lost, the starship went to Watto.  The night before the race, Qui-Gon took a blood sample from Anakin, and sent the data to his apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi.  The data showed that Skywalker had more midichlorians than Yoda.

Anakin won the race the next day, beating his rival, Sebulba.  The parts were given to Qui-Gon Jinn, and Anakin was also free.  Unfortunately, his mother was not allowed to be freed as well.  Anakin decided to join Qui-Gon Jinn.  When the group arrived at Coruscant, Anakin was shown before the Jedi Council.  They were amazed at his force abilities.  However, they did not allow him to be trained because of his age and his fear.  Qui-Gon, Kenobi, Anakin, Amidala and the rest then went back to Naboo to free the planet from the Trade Federation.  They were successful as Anakin blew up the Trade Federation starship flying a Naboo starfighter.  Unfortunately, Qui-Gon Jinn was killed by Darth Maul during the battle.

Obi-Wan Kenobi volunteered to train Anakin the ways of the force.  For 10 years, Anakin learned the ways of the Jedi from his master.  10 years after the Naboo battle, the two went back to Coruscant to protect Padme Amidala, now a Naboo Senator.  Anakin was assigned to protect Padme while Obi-Wan tried to find the individuals behind Amidala's assassination attempts.  Anakin and Padme went back to Naboo for safety purposes.  Anakin, however was falling in love with the senator.  Padme did not approve, thinking it would be living a lie.  While on Naboo, Anakin was having nightmares that his mother Shmi was in pain.  He had to go back to Tatooine to find his mother.  When they arrived on the desert planet, Anakin ran into his former owner, Watto.  Watto informed Skywalker that he had sold her to Cliegg Lars.  Anakin and Padme went to the Lars' homestead.

Lars told Skywalker that Shmi was captured by Tusken Raiders.  Anakin then went to look for her and found a barely alive Shmi tied up in one of the Tusken's huts.  After telling Anakin that she loved him, she died.  Anakin then began his slow fall to the darkside.  He killed every Tusken Raider in the camp.  After recovering from his mother's death, Anakin and Padme went to Geonosis to save Obi-Wan, who was captured by Count Dooku.  Anakin and Padme failed in their attempt, and were also captured.  Padme then admitted she loved Anakin.  During their execution attempts, they survived until the Jedi Council came to Geonosis and saved them.  A huge battle began in the arena, but the Jedi were outnumbered.  Just as they were about to lose the battle, the clone army led by Yoda came into the arena and rescued the Jedi.  The battle raged on outside of the arena between the clones and the Separatists battle droids.  Meanwhile, Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi caught Count Dooku in a hangar.  Obi-Wan dueled with Dooku, but got injured.  Anakin fiercly went after Dooku, but the lightsaber duel ended fast as Dooku cut off Anakin's right arm.  Yoda then arrived and saved them by fighting Dooku, but he escaped.

After the battle, Anakin received a mechanical right arm.  He then married Padme in secret as the Jedi Council forbid attachment.  Soon after, Anakin finally was seduced to the dark side by Palpatine.  An Empire was born, and dark times begun.  While dueling his old master Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin received horrible injuries and could not survive anymore as a human.  He became more machine than man.  He became Darth Vader.

After he became the evil Sith Lord, the Jedi Purge began.  Vader hunt down and destroyed nearly every Jedi in the galaxy.  His former master Obi-Wan survived and went into hiding on Tatooine, changing his name to Ben Kenobi.  Nearly twenty years later, Vader's son, Luke Skywalker met Ben Kenobi.  They tried to deliver the stolen Death Star plans to Alderaan, but the planet was destroyed by the Empire.  The group wound up on the Death Star, rescued Vader's daugther Leia Organa, and escaped, but Vader struck down his old master in a lightsaber duel.  Vader's son ended up destroying the Death Star soon after.

Vader was obsessed with finding his son.  After a failed attempt at capturing him on Hoth, Vader and the Empire went to Bespin and captured Luke's friends.  Luke felt his friends in pain, and went to rescue them.  He couldn't rescue his friend Han Solo, but ended up in the carbon freezing chamber at Cloud City, where Vader was waiting.  The two fought in a lightsaber duel, and Luke lost his right hand.  Soon after, Vader told the young Skywalker that he was his father.  He wanted Luke to join him, but he escaped.

Vader found young Skywalker on Endor.  He then took him to the new Death Star to learn the ways of the dark side.  They fought in a second lightsaber duel, and Luke won, slicing off Vader's mechanical right hand.  The Emperor was pleased, and told Luke to join him.  Luke refused, and Palpatine was angry.  He used force lightning on Skywalker, while Vader watched.  Seeing his son in pain, Vader had conflicts within himself.  He then redeemed himself by throwing Palpatine down the Death Star shaft.  Vader was Anakin Skywalker once again.  He then told Luke to take his mask off so he could see him with his own eyes.  He looked at him and told him he was right, and then he died.  Anakin Skywalker brought balance to the force as the prophecy fortold.
