| news update 1 December 2003 Wellington, NZ Haircut Stuns Family, Friends A new haircut has shocked Chris' family and friends, according to eyewitnesses. The new "do" - which inside sources confirm is the shortest ever - has raised eyebrows among some onlookers. "He looks like an American GI.... or an escaped convict", revealed one friend, on condition of anonymity. "I wouldn't like to meet the guy on a dark night," he added. Family members also seem uncertain about the change in style. "Christopher is a nice boy and should have a nice haircut," said his mother when asked about the new look. "I didn't bring him up to look like a football hooligan." Some comments were more positive: "I think it was time for a change," revealed one friend. "He'd had the whole floppy-haired Hugh Grant thing going on for way too too long. I mean, even Hugh Grant dropped that look years ago. This isn't 1995, for God's sake." Another friend expressed surprise when quizzed about the new look. "Has he had his hair cut?" she asked. "I guess I didn't notice." No pictures of the new super-short coiffure have yet been captured on film.
